I Have no idea how the hell to write how I feel about this book..!!! I have to be honest I wasn't really sure if I was going to enjoy it..Because well Toren practically raises Kenzi from a baby and then they are together intimately when she is 18 years old and Toren is 32. I am no prude but I was a bit uncertain how I would feel about it all... But let me tell you I was WRONG to even doubt it. I LOVED this story !!! Carian Cole wrote this in such a way that it made Toren and Kenzi's romance not creepy but kind of special and unique..Like Kenzi was born to be Toren's ,it was fate ,they are soul mates and the connection they have is just beautiful. This is my first Carian Cole book so I haven't read the Ashes and Embers series which this book is connected to...But honestly it can be read as a stand alone because you quickly put the pieces together of what happened . Kenzi is the daughter of Asher and Ember and Toren is Asher's best friend...They have Kenzi when they were only 15 years old...When Kenzi is born all 3 of them raise her but it is Toren who takes care of her the most.This is because Asher and Ember are always on tour...There is alot of history between them that is simply explained throughout the book. This book kind of broke my heart,and yes I did cry because it was just so emotional...the turmoil of feelings and the conflict Toren and Kenzi felt was fantastically written by Carian Cole. The Narrators Noelle Bridges and Mason Lloyd are SUPERB telling this story,I was totally hooked. The emotions they projected in some scenes was heart breaking,I cannot fault them...They were just excellent and I adored listening to them. The writing was perfection also,as Toren and Kenzi try to navigate a secret relationship,until they can reveal their love to the world. I am now eager to read/listen to the other books that Carian Cole has written because I have really enjoyed this age gap taboo story...I CANNOT believe that I waited so long to give Carian Coles books a try,what is wrong with me..!! Torn is a very addictive book you are instantly intrigued how Toren and Kenzi's relationship will turn out and you can't stop reading or listening. A Phenomenal book. 5 Stars.

I’m so fussy with narrators but I loved both of these. This type of trope for me is borderline pushing it, but I think the way the author wrote it was very beautiful and didn’t come across predatory at all, I can’t wait to read/ listen to the next one.
