About this listen

Steve Guest's Top Biller is a refreshing and timely insight into the recruitment industry, for both seasoned professionals and those new to the game. Guest breaks down his technique and breathes life into the method that has caused himself and those he mentors to become highly successful "Top Billers". Having turned around numerous careers, no doubt picking up Guest's book will provide you with an invaluable head start in this ever-competitive industry. In this book, Guest teaches:

  • The nuts and bolts of the recruitment industry and the jewels within
  • The most effective method and process for consistent success
  • Incremental steps toward big changes
  • A fresh approach to sales and negotiation
  • How structure can bring unknown freedom

Guest has operated within the recruitment industry for more than 13 years, working for large globally recognized recruitment PLC brands and driving smaller businesses, new regions, and offices. Always pushing boundaries, Guest is an expert at inspiring change, innovation, and growth. He continues to mentor, coach, and train recruitment consultants at all levels and still actively recruits in his specialist sector.

Guest's advice on how to become successful within your recruiting career differs from the norm, as he dispels the idea that you must obtain a brash and loud persona to gain success within the industry. These "salesy" industry expectations were why Guest, a methodical man, was initially rejected at interview stage to become a recruitment consultant. In this book, he discusses his journey over 13 years from rejection through to "Top Billing" success by applying a structured "process and procedure" method. Guest and his mentees have shown that by following this method you can be consistently more successful than the most aggressive salesperson in the room.

Legend. Great read, no books like this for our industry so good to listen to.

Great advanced detail and even a reminder of some of the basic stuff that gets lost over the years was a great refresher!

Thank you Steve!

I have listened to this Audible book for the last week driving to and from work. I have been working in the recruitment industry for 25 years so assumed this bloke couldn’t teach me anything. I’m quite annoyed that I really enjoyed it. In fact I can honestly say there wasn’t anything in the book that I disagreed with. A great book for new consultants in the industry and more experienced people like myself. I just wished I had written it. Good production and well read too.

Annoyingly good
