About this listen

Professor Hank Newstead has been making expeditions to the Amazon River for years. They've become routine to him. But this time, the expedition is going to be anything but normal.

Hank, along with a hardened river boat captain, his much younger girlfriend, and his main professional rival, are in the Amazon purely to study frogs. All their plans vanish quickly, however, when they are attacked by a Titanoboa, an enormous prehistoric snake that should be millions of years in its grave. As their crew dwindles from a series of terrifying attacks, they discover a secret: a long lost colleague of the professor has taken up residence on an island in the deepest parts of the jungle. And if Hank and the others can't find and stop her, then the Titanoboa will not be the only extinct monster unleashed back into the world.

What can I say it is my favourite genre. And this hit the Spot a giant snake, mad professor, and colleagues who would drive you mad.
Read it , laugh or cringe this is good entertainment.

I loved it

I recieved a copy of this book in return for an honest review. I really wanted to love it as I'm a huge horror/thriller fan and it sounded right up my street.. sadly I struggled to finish this one. The writing really feels like it's aimed at a young teen audience as it uses very basic language and doesn't go into much detail or descriptions of anything. I found I didn't care about any of the characters as they were 1 diamentional and well pretty annoying half the time. There's a lot of wasted idle chat as a couple seem to non stop argue if they should be together or not due to an age difference which added nothing to the story and the time could have been better used to flesh out the story. The narration was an odd one for me, the first 4 chapters he sounded like he was rushing to read through so almost every sentence/word sounded clipped but I will say from about chapter 5 onwards it improved a lot. The female characters voiced were not the best and got a bit irritating. He did a decent job with a poor story.
The sound effects were often too loud and distracting (tho I do prefer my audiobooks without sound effects). Overall I'm glad it was free and am very unlikely to read more from this author.

Might be enjoyable for teens
