The Numberless have fallen, and in their absence, the city begins to fracture.
A power vacuum spreads through the ranks, tempting even the most honorable Validated as political factions rise and collapse in violent succession, dragging the city into chaos.
Cojax and Jessica see what others refuse to face. While the city turns inward, consumed by ambition and control, a far greater threat advances beyond the Wall. The Decamont are coming—and they will not stop until everything is erased.
As alliances shatter and the illusion of a perfect society crumbles, Cojax is forced to rise from the bottom of a system designed to break him, while Jessica becomes something the system was never meant to create. Together, they stand at the center of a city tearing itself apart, where survival demands more than strength—it demands transformation.
The revolution is over, but the war is just beginning—and the city may not survive what comes next.
©2026 Sterling Nixon (P)2026 SterlingAs the regime has fallen, and truths exposed, the protagonists are faced with the realities of a power vacuum: who will now run the city? The first half of the book does a great job of exploring how factions emerge, the politicking, media campaigns, smear tactics and even assassinations.
As the stakes increase the real enemy prepares to retaliate. It all builds to an epic battle full of heroics and betrayal.
Whilst the ages of the 2 main characters is a little hard to square with their achievements, that does not take away from the fact this a series that will appeal to all ages and deserves to get far more recognition.
Once again, top class narration by Euan Morton
