Summary

On the run from the law, Mayhem seeks refuge in a new city. But what he soon discovers is that New Orleans' hustlers are even grimier than the dudes he left dead in Atlanta. Lines are crossed; friends turn into bitter rivals; and the only certainty in Mayhem's life is death and bloodshed, until he stumbles upon Keedy, a diamond in the hood.

When they meet, it's true love at first sight - hood style. But the price they must pay to be together could be death. Mayhem fears nothing. Keedy has nothing to lose. All they have is each other as death closes in on them, threatening to obliterate their epic love.

Will they succumb to the laws or their enemies? Or will true love and their always handy guns be their shield?

Did I get the wrong book?

Let me say first that I am a HUGE fan of urban fiction and authors such as Wahida Clark, Ca$h, Ty Marshall, and NeNe Capri just to name a few. Having said that I was very disappointed by this book. It was nothing like I was expecting from Ca$h, having read Thugs Cry I and II just a few months ago and Trust No Bi@#$ I, II, and III in 2018 and fell in love with his writing style. WTF happened here? There was absolutely no depth to the story, no "big reveal" anywhere in the book. A ghetto love story, yes indeed but it was just so corny and not well put together, UGHHHH, I was so frustrated! I get that I had expectations because I am by no means new to this genre nor the author, THUS the deep disappointment. I'm not sure what the other reviewers of this book were reading, 5 stars for this, really? Also, whoever James Underwood is he does not need to narrate urban fictions, street novels, nothing of the sort. The narration made the book that much more of a struggle to get through. Having said all of that, I will continue to support this author and the urban fiction style novels because they are good for entertainment when i want a break from reading the serious stuff (history of the nation, political conspiracy theories, studies in sociology and psychology, ect...), This one was just NOT IT!

Mayhemmmmmm

I kept hearing about this competition by two authors and never got around to reading it eventhough I had purchased it. I heard so much about it, that I gifted a couple of people the book without even reading it because of the hype. I must say, I thought it was cool AF that two authors came together and thought to do this. I can't get my hands on Aaron Bebo's copy so I read the one that I could get my hands on. But anyways... I was all into this book yo. Mayhem was beast frfr, dude carried no punk in his blood. Seeing his moms lose her life at the hands of a man made him a force to be reckoned with. When Mayhem's friend thought he could get away with crossing him, that was one of the biggest mistakes of his life. You never take chances of crossing a dude like Mayhem when you are fully aware of his caliber. Mayhem left Atlanta because of the brewing storm and headed to N. O. He had no idea that this storm would be much bigger there. Out of all the snakes, A'nyah disgusted me the most. I had no remorse or sad feelings about her outcome🤷🏿‍♀️. It took Keedy sometime to come around, but when she did... Bae-by (in my N. O. voice) babygirl was a stallion! Dream should get the cat she deserves, a nothing ass nihh. She's so simple and ratchet 🤦🏾‍♀️ I honestly thought I would not get the same feelings that many got out of this book when they read it 6 years ago. That is so far from the truth because this book was dope AF! 5*

Love 💘story

I really enjoyed Mayhem character. He was straight thug, with a kind heart for Keedy. I felt sorry for Keedy, she had no self esteem, until Mayhem walked in her life. 💞. The title is the book. Worth the credit and then some. Keep the books coming. 🤓💕💕💕
