Having lost everything after a failed marriage, Beverley Sanders now lodges in the basement flat of a house owned by her best friend Sophie and husband, Tim. I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was a great story with a fantastic narrator. Although the story was very gritty there were sparks of humour which actually made me laugh out loud. I immediately bought the next book in the series I just hope it’s as good if not better than this one!

This book has everything, laughter, murder, mystery and a fantastic twist. I can't wait to read the next chapter of Bev's life, and where her next case will take her.
Well done, Imogen Church for bringing the characters to life, with laughter and menace in equal measure.
