When Lane realizes he’s attracted to his straight stepbro, he’s absolutely thunderstruck . . .

It’s not the worst day of Lane’s life when his team, the Toronto Thunder, drafts his baby stepbro, Trevor, but it’s close.

No. The worst day was when his mom married Trevor’s dad. Trevor’s just too good, too naïve, too sheltered. Too hot.

Lane might claim he wants nothing to do with him, but that’s the worst delusion of all. He’s always wanted everything to do with Trevor. Even when they have zero in common. Even when Trevor’s always been on the straight and narrow. Literally.

Lane’s the total opposite. He’s walked—and danced and sashayed—to the beat of his own drum, forever. Mentoring Trevor now that they’re on the same team? Sounds like his idea of hell—and heaven, too. There’s a reason their teammates call them the demon twins.

But with the final few games of the season and the Thunders’ playoff run looming, Lane’s self-control is weaker than ever. Especially when Trevor confesses that he’s been thinking about it, too.

Suggesting Trevor experiment with their mutual attraction would be a terrible idea, but Lane’s had worse, and that’s never stopped him before.

And when it becomes way more than just sex? When Trevor becomes the first guy he wants to see in the mornings and the last thing before he goes to bed at night? When they’re so completely entangled together that he couldn’t get free, even if he wanted to?

That’s a special kind of thunder.

Story: Loved this series so much and this is like a cherry on the cake!
Lane and Trevor were great MCs with lots of big feels between them. It was great seeing them get together and overcome the difficulties.
Great take on a stepbrothers story and typical for Beth Bolden - a great sports themed book!
Narration: Great performance as always. Easy to discern the characters and all the feels were there!

Brilliant!

From the moment Lane saw Trevor, he was a goner, but he couldn't have a crush on his stepbrother.
Listening to this audiobook you can hear Lane's frustration, at Trevor and with himself. But the more time they spent together, Trevor learns more about himself. The scenes with Cam and Jordan had me laughing and I really like Jordan.
The details description of the games, listening to it play by play was exciting and I had to stop what else I was doing just to listen to the game.
Another good listen

Y'all, this book was juicy! First of all the audiobook starts with a one hour prologue and it was such a good set up!

So we have Lane, who is two years older than his soon-to-be stepbrother, and in the prologue they're meeting for the first time because their parents are together.

However, when they meet Lane realizes that his soon-to-be stepbrother is the boy from high school that he has had a major crush on for awhile. But of course he doesn’t want to ruin his mom’s potential chance at happiness in her relationship with Trevor’s dad. So basically for the next six years, he just completely avoids his own family as much as possible because he has all these conflicting feelings for Trevor, but then everyone's like, oh, but you guys are “new brothers” and all this stuff and he doesn't want to make things weird.

So it’s step-brothers, but they never really lived or grew up as step-brothers.

Then we jump to the present day, which is where we left off after book three. And now the younger main character, Trevor, has been drafted to the Toronto Thunder football team alongside Lane, and now they're living as roommates in forced proximity, and it's amazing!

As always, the audiobook was highly entertaining and I strongly recommend it.

This was good, but ye gods it was long. This author often runs long but this seemed way worse than usual. Thirteen hours is too much for a romance without external plot and and the whole time I was listening I had a disconnect between where I thought I was in the book and where I actually was. I was over an hour in before I even hit chapter 1, and when I thought I was nearly done and had about 30 mins left, it turned out it was actually 3 hours.

The story itself and the characters were actually great. Stepbros will always be fun and this was no exception, I've been looking forward to the so-called Demon Twins for a while. Both MCs were loveable and relatable, and although it wasn't the main focus, I liked that it touched on their different upbringings. Trevor was demisexual, but I actually really liked how this was explored and presented, it was so much better than Aidan in the first book. If this had been a few hours shorter I would probably have rated high, but the sheer length unfortunately dragged it down. I actually really liked that the MCs met as teens and it was five or six years before anything happened between them, but I feel like I was listening to this one for millennia.

cute

Their teammates call them the Demon Twins, because they bicker constantly; but of course, there’s a reason for that and in this beautiful book we get to read their story and all that there is behind it.
The story may have become weird in the hands of a less talented author, but Beth Bolden managed to navigate their relationship in a perfect way.
The pining from Lane’s side was fierce, and I loved how Trevor stepped up and pushed for what he wanted!

I loved Lane and Trev!
