About this listen

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, or the number five value meal at McDaniels!

For close to a decade, the barbarian known as Thule the Vanquisher traversed the lands of Lemuria, thwarting wizards and warlords alike. But in the midst of his latest clash with his arch-nemesis, the Scorpion Sorcerer Riven Kul'Doom, things got a little out of hand.

As Thule wakes up in a McDaniels parking lot, he finds himself attempting to make sense of this strange new world. In order to survive long enough to find his way home, he takes a job at McDaniels. However, soon Thule discovers that he was not the only Lemurian legend to find his way to the bizarre land known as...Florida.

Can Thule defeat the sorcerer and find the key to returning home? Will his burgeoning harem of beautiful fast-food employees be enough to satisfy his great appetite? Will he get promoted to crew trainer? Find out in this captivating slice-of-life/sword and sorcery reverse isekai adventure inspired by the barbarian legends of yore!

Author's note: This is very silly, and I make no apology.

The main character's voice takes some getting used to and the MANY Arnie quotes are a little on the nose but this is an enjoyable comedic reverse Isekai story and if that's your thing you'll probably like it.

A light hearted parody

I received this title for free for an honest review.

As you can probably tell by the cover and description this is a light-hearted comedy and is perfect if you are looking for a chilled story with humorous miscommunication due to unknown knowledge and terms the MC is not familiar with as well as idioms aplenty!

Raya Kane does a great job narrating the story whilst Wayne Kelly brings Thul to life as a mixture of Arnold Schwarzenegger/Conan.

So yeah if your looking for a just a chilled story that doesn't take itself to seriously, give this a shot.

I really thought this was a really fun well written book with great narration can’t wait for the next one

Epic

The actual plot was a massive drag. Predictable, with both sides coated in too much plot armor to feel any stakes are involved.

In short, with the story being so loose and irreverent, it was hard to care about anything that was happening.

Like a pantomime
