Hilarious sequel to Three Men in a Boat, set with the same three men walking and biking through the German Black Forest with the same hilarious goings-on, insights, humor, and irony of Three Men in a Boat.

This is classic comedy writing with great characters and diverse settings both in Enland and Germany. However the American narrator is a strange choice to vocalise the quintessential Enlish characters as they face various mishaps on their turn of century cycle tour through pre war Germany. Also the narrator has a stop start method of speaking which can jangle the nerves.
He sounds like a good natured humurous cove who might be better suited to reading Mark Twain. I gave up eventually and resolved to find another version with a better suited narrator.

Unexpected American narrator

Witty and entertaining story with plenty of anecdotes but not enough of the three men on their bikes. Narrator has a pleasant voice but is from the other side of the Atlantic - the book purports to be autobiographical and he author was born in Walsall so this does detract a little. He mispronounces English place names, words like scion and despotism, hesitates in odd places (perhaps he is turning the page) and struggles with German place names. Some preparation before recording may have been helpful. Much of the humour lost because of this. Would love to hear Martin Jarvis or Stephen Fry read this.

Poor choice of narrator
