About this listen

Thomas Pitt's barrister son Daniel returns in this gripping legal adventure. A crazed killer is stalking the rainy streets of London, and no one is safe....

Three Debts Paid is the fifth gripping legal thriller from the pen of highly acclaimed crime writer and New York Times best-selling author Anne Perry.

Daniel Pitt is defending an old college professor from Cambridge who has been accused of plagiarism, when a series of brutal murders occurs on the streets of London. The rainy-day slasher, as the crazed killer becomes known, violently attacks his victims in the pouring rain and then removes one of their fingers before leaving the bodies. Daniel's dear friend Miriam Fford Croft, newly qualified as a pathologist, is tasked with examining the bodies for clues, and when Special Branch warn the police to stop investigating one of the victims, Daniel finds himself reluctantly drawn into this haunting mystery....

Another brilliant book by Anne Perry. No matter whether it’s William Monk or Thomas Pitt, and now Daniel Pitt she just keeps coming up with great story lines. I think I’ve listened to all her audio books. She never disappoints. I’m just sorry that I will have to wait ages for her to write another. Not all of her books are on audible sadly. I’m not sure why🤷‍♀️ There are authors and then there are AUTHORS. If you have liked her previous books you will be more than happy with this one.

How does she do it?!

Anne Perry never lets you down. Her characters are believable and the stories are imaginative. I love this era for crime and she captures the time so well. Would recommend.

Well read
Wanted to know what happened
Repetitive in repeating character history and facts within the book. It’s like it was written by AI and the reader doesn’t have the intelligence to hold onto the plot

Interesting subject but formulaic
