Story
Be calm, collected and in the moment. Too often, life just races by. You don’t fully experience what’s happening now, because you’re too busy thinking about what needs doing tomorrow, or distracted by what happened yesterday. And all the time your mind is chattering with commentary or judgement. Mindfulness allows you to experience the moment instead of just rushing through it. Being mindful opens you up to new ideas and new ways of doing things, reducing stress and increasing your enjoyment of life.

Story
If every therapist and psychotherapist on the planet could repeat this to their clients, like a mantra, again and again, there would be fewer therapists and psychotherapists. Because it works. Very quickly. Realising that what you're worrying about and stressing over doesn't really matter so much in the grand scheme of things is the door to freedom and healing. And the little profanity 'F**k It' is the key to that door.

I am 93. I've had an extraordinary life. It's only now that I appreciate how extraordinary. As a young man, I felt I was out there in the wild, experiencing the untouched natural world - but it was an illusion. The tragedy of our time has been happening all around us, barely noticeable from day to day - the loss of our planet's wild places, its biodiversity. I have been witness to this decline.

In most cases, there are objections to try other methods of rectifying insomnia. People want to go for the pharmaceutical methods, whereby they would have various drugs, and just get over with it. Like you might know of antibiotics, and some other forms of drugs, our bodies get resistant or rather familiar with them. What do you do when you have finally gotten unresponsive or resistant to that treatment you had adopted?

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

On the whole very useful and informative
Well presented and easy to follow with an engaging narrator. There are lots of goof tips and ideas in this book, my only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is due to discussion about how and when to use your bedroom. I've heard the saying that you should only use your bedroom for sleep and sex, however, the author does acknowledge that some people live in bedsits or have a lack of other space to use for other purposes. My reason for only giving 4 stars is because she then does not go any further into this and just keeps repeating that the bedroom should not be used for anything else. I'm in accommodation where only my kitchen and bathroom are separate, so my TV and work are completed in there too. I can make adjustments and do my best, but some tips on how to deal with this and adpat would have been a good addition to the book.

Yep, that headline just saved you 4 hours of your life. If you need a book that states the blooming obvious then by all means go for it but if you are reading a book about sleep then I think it's safe to say that you've probably tried all the things that everyone knows already.
