About this listen

From Readers' Favorite Book Award winner Becky Monson comes the first book in a chick lit romance series that will keep you laughing.

Julia Dorning is a spinster, or at least on the road to becoming one. She has no social life, hates her career, and lives in her parent's basement with her cat, Charlie.

With the arrival of Jared Moody, the new hire at work, Julia's mundane life is suddenly turned upside down. Her instant (and totally ridiculous) crush on the new guy causes Julia to finally make some long-overdue changes, in hopes to find a life that includes more than baking and hanging out with Charlie.

But when the biggest and most unexpected change comes, will the new and improved Julia be able to overcome it? Or will she go back to her spinster ways?

Really enjoyed the story though it ended quite abruptly, then realised it was the start of a series so went straight to book 2.

Nice and easy listen

I really wasn’t sure on this to start off with but after a few chapters I really started to enjoy it! I wish there’d of been a little more at the end but still enjoyable nonetheless

Stick with it, it gets better!

The main character, Julia, is stuck in a rut, living at home and in a dead end job. She suffers from very low self esteem but crawls out of her shell when, girll meets boy, it all is rather predictable and overly long. But things eventually get difficult, she loses her job ( instigated by her beau). But, you've guessed it ! They get over the misunderstanding and get together. All sweetness and light.
How she manages to buy her first property then a business. I'm not sure how that was possible ( but I may have dozed off).
But it didn't cost me and it passed some tune.

Rather predictable.
