Summary
Sneaking out of the palace wasn’t one of Aniri’s best ideas.
But she’s the third daughter of the Queen of Dharia - zero responsibilities and zero royal duties. She’s just the backup daughter, in case her older sisters’ arranged marriages - to take the crown or broker an alliance - don’t quite work out. But once Aniri reaches her 18th birthday, she’ll be truly free...and then she can marry the charming fencing instructor she meets for fevered kisses in the forest.
But then the impossible happens - a marriage proposal. From a barbarian prince in the north, no less. And if Aniri refuses, the threat of their new flying weapon might bring war.
So she agrees to the young prince’s proposal, but only as a subterfuge to spy on him, find the weapon, and hopefully avoid both war and an arranged marriage to a man she doesn’t love. But once she arrives in the sweeping mountains of the north, she discovers the prince has his own secrets...and saving her country may end up breaking her heart.
This Bollywood-style royal romance takes you to an alternate East Indian world filled with skyships, saber duels, and lots of royal intrigue.
Third Daughter is the first book in the Royals of Dharia trilogy.

Fantastic.
A really good fantasy audiobook. The narrator does a good job with this story and makes it come alive. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Third Daughter. I wasn't sure this was going to be a book that I could really get into, but I loved it. A very good start to a series.

Wowza
This is the first I’ve read in the series and it had me staying up late and listening in the car every chance I got. At first I was thinking it was just going to be the story of a spoiled rich princess, secretly in love with someone far below her station, but it was soooo much more. There was adventure, unexpected twists and it just kept me wanting to know more. Very well written and the narration is wonderfully done as well.

A thrilling love story
I received a review copy of this book for an honest review.
I own to say that I usually don't read much romance, but with this one I fell in love, is not the typical I meet you and feel in love, nothing of the sort.
Anhiri had a lot of fight in her even if she didn't knew what everything was going to lead, I liked her, he knew a few things of what she actually wanted in life and wasn't afraid to admit it and the development of this character was very well done too.
Malik was one of a kind, so full of love and trying his best, he make some mistakes in his life and I liked that he admitted to them and try to better himself, also he sounded super handsome, so plus.
With all the hardships they went through in their story, I couldn't not fell in love with them and everything they wanted to do, I actually hope to finish this series, because I do want to know what will happen with the other two sisters, something tells me that like with Anhiri things aren't as they seem at first.
A very nice romance with a little action and intrigue blend.

Third Daughter
I had the pleasure of being introduced to Susan Kaye Quinn's books by listening to the audio version of her Third Daughter. This begins her The Royals of Dharia series. I thought it was pretty good. Since I was not used to the authors writing style, I did have a hard time as to what was going on at first. Around the 25% mark, I caught on and was hooked. What a fun read!
I am giving First Daughter four stars. I look forward to the next installment of the The Royals of Dharia series.
I received the audio version of this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

Such a fun story with so many twists! The narrator is perfect for the story. The Royals of Dharia is a little outside my normal reading preference, but I really enjoyed it. The world building & character development is top notch. I'll be continuing the series!

A Thrilling Story!
This is the first audio book I’ve listened to by this author and narrator. I have read other books by this author and enjoyed them which is why I was interested in Third Daughter.
This book kept me on my toes and thoroughly enthralled. I spent half my day at work today listening while pushing papers!
At first I struggled to connect with the narration. I’m not a frequent audio book listener and the narrators cadence took some getting used to. However after a few chapters her voice brought the characters to life for me! I could vividly see the imagery of the story. I fell in love with the characters, seeing their struggles and how they grew and developed.
The author does a fantastic job and I truly enjoyed this narration.
