Summary

This novelette won the Hugo award in 1996 and has been hailed by many as a science-fiction classic. Intelligent dinosaurs from outer space offer humanity the chance to use their transporter technology to join the galactic culture, but at a terrible price. When a routine transport goes wrong, one man must face the consequences of becoming too much like an alien.

Author James Patrick Kelly is a two-time winner of the Hugo Award and a 2007 Nebula Award winner. His stories appear frequently in Asimov's Science Fiction, and he writes the magazine's "On the Net" column. Publishers Weekly has called him "a meticulous craftsman in the demanding short-story form".

Like Shatner reading Twilight Zone.

As cheap as this is, It's only good for passing time.
If they had picked a better reader, this would have been more interesting.
It's kind of a Twilight Zone type story.
But the reader sounds like a caricature of William Shatner. Too...
many... pauses..... If the ... story had.... been... read by... some... one... else.
It.... would... have been... bet... ter.. to ... lis EN ... to.
