About this listen
The hunky dad, the hockey coach, and a new start....
Bryson:
Elmwood isn't good for my love life. Hey, I'm a positive person and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about small town living, but I haven't had a date in years. That's fine. My son is and always has been my number one focus.
Except now he's grown and gone. And its lonely.
Okay, yes, the new hockey coach is hot and single, but he's off limits. Smitty's trouble with a capital T, and his baggage might outweigh mine. Besides, we said nothing would happen after that night. It was a one-time, never to be repeated deal.
At least that's what I thought.
Smitty:
Am I sad about retiring from pro hockey? Honestly, no. I cant remember the last time I wasn't in pain. My body needs a rest, but I can't go home. Everything has changed there, and I need a distraction. Stat.
So Elmwood.
Look, we all know I won't last a whole season of coaching high school kids, but stepping in till they find a better candidate is a good temporary plan. And Bryson's here.
There's something about the hot dad with the sunny smile and bad dad jokes that makes me feel alive again. I'm not in the market for forever. Been there, done that. I've risked my body, but I'm not giving my heart away again. I know thin ice when I see it.
Or do I?
Thin Ice is an MM bisexual, small town romance featuring a silver fox dad, the new hockey coach, and a fresh start on solid ground.

I absolutely loved Smitty, he was larger than life and I just wanted to hug him when he finally revealed what had happened with his ex-wife. I really liked Bryson, too, although I was a bit confused at first about him pushing Smitty away when Smitty moved to Elmwood. I understood his motives later, and he grew on me. They were amazing together and had scorching chemistry, but my favorite parts were them talking and being vulnerable with each other.
I wasn't too sure about Jake, Bryson's son, and his antagonism against Smitty, but I was glad they cleared the air and managed to work together.
Nick J. Russo did a fabulous job bringing Smitty and Bryson to life. As always, he managed to inject his narration with a lot of emotion and heart, and his voice is just very pleasant to listen to.
This was a very emotional, spicy, sweet read with very low angst, and a fantastic storyline. I just couldn't get enough of Bryson and Smitty and I have no trouble recommending this audiobook.
Fantastic addition to the series!

I adore this series. It's my favourite Lane Hayes series and one of my favourite hockey series too.
This is Bryson's story, who we've met in several of the other books, notably as the real estate agent, Jake's dad, and JC’s occasional hookup. This takes place some time after the last book, Jake is playing in the AFL and Bryson is struggling with being an empty nester. Into this comes Smitty, a soon to be retired hockey player and Bryson allows himself to have a one night stand, he'll never see Smitty again, right?
I loved Smitty, he's a total cinnamon roll. His attempts to get Bryson to notice him once he moves to Elmwood are bordering on juvenile but Smitty is so charming the you can't help but smile and he won this reader over in much the same way as he won Bryson.
The other couples all make an appearance s0 there's a chance to catch up with what's been happening in their lives without it taking over the story.
Nick J Russo does a brilliant job with the audio. If this is the end of Elmwood I'm going to need to go back to the start to get my fix.
