About this listen

In Maywood Heights, stars burn bright. They fall even harder.

They call them the Court, an elite boys club who rule Windsor Preparatory Academy like gods among men. And, of course, they're led by Hercules himself.

Royal Prinze - yes, that's actually his name - walks around both the school and the town like he owns them. His affiliation to the prestigious Court only gives him more clout. These boys do anything they want. They take anything they want, and they f--k anything they want...in that order.

Then there's me.

I came to Maywood Heights to live with my virtually indifferent father because my sister went AWOL. She chose to stay with him after our parents' divorce when we were kids, and I haven't seen or heard from her since summer began. The last thing I imagined when enrolling at her school was that she'd be connected to a group like the Court and boys like Royal. She's nothing like them and so much better than Royal and his elitist attitude.

So, why then are they saying he's her best friend?

Warning: This enemies-to-lovers high-school romance contains some dark themes and light bullying. The book is not a stand-alone and is book one in a four-part series of full-length novels. Royal Prinze is the only hero of this tale...good luck getting him to share.

Loved this high school enemies/bullies to lovers book. This genre is so exciting to me lately. Could be the amazing writing of the author tackling this genre does not matter to me. Because it’s another book that I devoured as fast as my live and duties allowed. Darn adulting gets in my way of listening as mush as I would like!

Kasi Hollowell is phenomenal in this audiobook. She’s definitely a narrator to watch out for!

That cliffhanger was shocking and left me dangling and so needing more! Can’t wait for the next book.

They The Pretty Stars by Eden O’Neill is an enemies to lovers high school romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Kasi Hollowell.

The book does come with a Warning: This enemies-to-lovers high-school romance contains some dark themes and light bullying.

This is the first book of Eden’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I was hooked from the very first chapter and couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the chemistry between Royal and December. The book does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn’t a surprise since it’s the first book in a four book series. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Illusions That May to be released on audible so I can get more of their story.

Kasi did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

I would highly recommend this series if you love enemies to lovers romance.

Fair warning.. there's a cliffy and it's a doozy! I just sat there when it was over like who, what, how, why... huh?! SO many questions!

December is a sweet girl, she isn't innocent by any means and her past has been rough.. but it made her who she is today and it helped pull the blinders off so to speak and helped her become the person she is today and accept that.

Royal Prinze is KING. He rules more than the school and he is well aware of his pull, what he doesn't expect is December.. she isn't anything like Paige. She is an anomaly to him and he can't stay away.

When December starts a Windsor Prep, things aren't what she expects. There are key players she didn't know about and things about her sister she had no idea about. She is learning more about her sister and starting to realize maybe she didn't know her sister at all. Which makes it harder to find her.

Royal and December have a somewhat instant attraction, but there are issues with things and life gets more complicated as it goes on. The outside factors don't help and the fact that her sister is still missing.. then when things start to happen and December and Royal are involved, it gets more and more complicated. What is going on? Who is doing all of this? Why? And.. What next?

The ending to this book had me reeling! I had to turn around and start it over thinking maybe I could piece together a few things I missed.. no I couldn't. I'm still clueless and the angst has me hooked. I wouldn't call this a bully romance, but it is tough at times. I'm used to the Hero being super harsh to the heroine so this book was refreshing in that sense. It still has the mystery and the angst, but not the degradation.

Kasi Hollowell did phenomenal! She has the perfect voice for December and she did the emotions well. She really had me captured! She brought December to life in my head and gave the book an added factor! I loved her!

That Cliffhanger...

This is the first book in the court high series.

An enemies to lovers story which contains some dark themes.

This is the first book of Eden’s I've listened to and I enjoyed it. Kasi did a great job bringing the characters to life. The book does end on a cliff hanger which is no surprise as it’s the first of four book. Book 2 in the series is Illusions That May if you want to continue the story.
I loved the blossoming romance between Royal and December and I can't wait to find out what happens next. This was an excellent start to the High Court series and I would recommend it.
