Summary

Welcome back to the wild wild west of 1885 and the town of Bridgewater, where one cowboy - one husband - is never enough.

Young, beautiful, and idealistic, Tennessee Bennett longs to marry, but only for love. Unfortunately, her father intends to marry her off to the first wealthy man who will have her in order to pay his gambling debts. When his plan takes a murderous turn, Tennessee finds herself alone and penniless on the streets.

Best friends James Carr and Jonah Wells have watched and wanted Tennessee for two years. Gentlemen to their bones, they have done the right thing, waiting for her to grow into a woman old enough to wake to their touch. But when he discovers Tennessee is in danger, James knows they've waited long enough. The rebellious woman will be claimed and awakened to passion by not one husband, but two.

The Bridgewater way of one woman marrying two husbands is unknown to Tennessee, but the heat between them is undeniable. She learns that her men will do anything to protect her. But protection, even passion, is not love, and Tennessee is not willing to give up the one thing she truly needs in a marriage.

Can the three of them discover what is truly at the heart of their marriage before it's too late?

Not my cup of tea

It’s official. I really hate BDSM stories. Every time I hear about some man spanking a woman “to punish her for her own good” it makes me wish she would return the favor. Honestly I get that some women enjoy this kind of thing but to me it’s demeaning and wrong. The idea of being forced to submit makes me see red. It’s not sexy in the least not to me anyway.

Narration not the best...

It was a struggle to get through this story, narrator's word pronunciations and voice not very 'polished'.

the story itself was rushed and could have used proper character development. the storyteller was entertaining and seemed bored with the story.

Terrible Audio

Impossible for my to get past the first chapter. The reading was so incredibly terrible and lifeless. May as well have the Siri voice read the book to you.

Boring narrator

Such a monotone voice that makes the story so disappointing. Also the opening felt like it was the middle of the story rather than the end.

Bad narration

The story has potential but I just can't get past the mechanical reading of the narrator.

I'm glad it was free

This is the first book I've heard of the series. It was included with my audible subscription, and that's why I decided to finish it.

Barely Passable

I have to take the responsibility on this one... I saw this book come up on the Plus catalog and didn't bother to look at the author or narrator. I've listened to another book a couple months ago: same author and narrator, and didn't enjoy it at all, so I should have been paying better attention and that's on me. Regardless, I listened to the whole thing. Only 3.5 hours, so not as long as the other. The story is pretty boiler-plate and the writing is rough. Ms. Vale is missing adjective/articles and conjunctions all over the place which really disrupted the flow. It often sounds like the characters inner monologues are just listing off bullet points which came across a bit unfeeling and pragmatic. And Kylie Stewart's limited skills didn't help matters. I will say she was slightly more palatable in this book and I was impressed with her English accent which she does for a minor character for just a few lines. Otherwise, however, her tones and inflections often don't match the scene and the words. Especially when she's narrating the males' voices.

👍🏾👍🏾

That was Awesome! I really loved this novella! It was not just about a ménage, it was a cute and interesting story about three people who knew each other and found love and comfort in each other. It was well written and performed just as nice.

James was a strong older gentleman who knew what he wanted and went after it. Jonah was burned once and so was more reserved and unsure. However; when he met there Tennessee (aka Kitten)it was so meant to be. It was short and sweet and I don’t want to give any storylines away. All I’ll say is yes there was a storyline it wasn’t just a bunch of hot sexy sex! Yes there was that too!🥰😜😍😘

I was nervous about the reading by Kylie Stewart at first but it was actually perfect, she just read the book as a man not trying to sound like a man, she just read the book. Then as a woman she used her sultry voice, so it works….Cause you know, us woman can be damn sexy…😂😂Loved it, would read again…

James, Tennessee, & Jonah

*****Spoiler Alert*****

Audible Premium Plus review. Three POV. Book 11 in the Bridgewater Ménage series. Narrator reads well but has a flat affect throughout. The author over uses the word "for" (for I, for he, for she, for they, for it was; it gets old). Trigger warnings: spanking; MFM; DP; @n@l play/toys; Tennessee's father is murdered; Tennessee was held against her will; dubious consent; & women, while loved by their men, aren't treated with much respect overall.

James Carr believes he has a heart issue and plans to be in a ménage marriage because of it. Tennessee Bennett (19) has completed finishing school and needs to wed a wealthy husband or make money quickly to save her two younger sisters after her father is killed for his lies. Jonah Wells (40) is now a widower after the girl who he married because she claimed she was pregnant with his baby (even though they were never intimate) died in childbirth, he raised Abel (20) on his own, and doesn't intend to marry until he meets Tennessee. James first saw Tennessee 2 years earlier at her finishing school because his sister also attended the school. James rescues Tennessee from the man her father was trying to marry her off to but she gets away from him. James and Jonah then find her in a brothel, punish her and then are caught in a compromising situation forcing Jonah to be the one to marry her. James breaks his leg and finds out he doesn't have a heart issue after all that the doctor had him confused with another patient named James Kincaid. Tennessee's sisters arrive in town safe and sound, one of whom is already married. Several of the previous couples make an appearance and they all live HEA. JP
