Not much here...

As previous reviewers have said, what story can you tell in 5 minutes? Not much, and that's reflected in this audio book. It also sounds like the narrator has recorded this at night and intentionally tried to stay quiet to avoid disturbing others. There's no volume difference or tone difference between "what is going on, this has to be the government" and gunshots "bang bang bang bang" and " I better take this mask off" . Quality of the narration was good otherwise

Repetitive

I don't know what this was, but it's literally five minutes of repeating the same information. It wasn't great.

Intriguing

Have you ever been on a date where everything went perfect and then as the night comes to an end you think that you might get lucky only to be interrupted by unexpected family or friends visiting? Well that's about how this book went. Just as it gets interesting it's over leaving you wanting more. For a short listen and something different, this book hits the mark. The author did an outstanding job portraying the character.

What happens next??

I'm giving this book 4 1/2 stars because in just 5 minutes this author had me invested enough to say, Aww.. come on!! Who is it? And that takes skill for such a uber short tease.
The narrator deserves 5 stars for his enthusiastically animated performance complete with sound effects. I was given a free copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily decided to leave this review.

What can you do with 5 minutes? Not much this time

Some short fiction can have real punch. Some couple of minute long stories really pack a whollop in their short time. This is not one of those.

Maybe the fact that the English in the blurb has some basic mistakes in it, and doesn't actually make sense - 'and missions these survivors with go through to find the ultimate cause, cure, and eradication of The Z Virus.' should have been a tip off to the expected quality.

The description in the blurb says it is 'an apocalyptic comic book' but it literally is someone reading out a coming book. The describe the panels. 'David goes up the stairs'. 'David sees someone get shot'. David does this, David does that. Sentences 5 words long is the standard here to describe any action. Beyond that nothing is described.

The story has someone, David, wake up in a bunker, go to find someone named Alex. Kill a zombie or two. Gunshot heard and someone get's shot. That's it.

Normally I would avoid spoilers but there is pretty much nothing here to spoil. It ends with a 'Bang. Someone got shot. Who got shot? Find out in volume 2'. Ugh. sorry but you haven't made me care enough to want to find out.

Narrator Mark J. Cayco does fine with what he is given to work with, which is not a lot. There is a lot of onomatopoeic sounds (boom, crash, pow, biff) and gurgles from zombies, which he does well. There is no 'character' in his reading of what is said by David, but there is so little there it would be hard to manufacture.

It seems this 'book' is basically a short advertisement for a video series available on Amazon Prime. Maybe the video series is good, and worth checking out, but this audiobook isn't.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this review voluntarily. I wish I could give a better review, but I can't.

Wrong format!

Although the comic books and/or videos of this series may be good I don't think audio is the best format for this work. Perhaps the videos might be successful on Audible. What we have here is just a short teaser to get you to look into the comics and videos on Amazon. I'd like a full-length episode, but not this. I needed more!

Not enough to give an honest review. It was interesting and the narration was well done. I would like to read the full story when it's available.

kind of pointless to me

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Basically, this is a serialized story that apparently goes along with a comic book. I was a little intrigued but I'm not all in just yet. I may come back and edit my review once I've read the comic, but for now it seems a little pointless. The narration, for all of 5 minutes, is good (for what it is).

Comic book audio companion

Preppers and zombies, in a comic book! Some gratuitous R-rated language, and a cliff-hanger ending.
This might be good as a companion to the experience of reading along with the illustrated comic book. The narrator does a great job giving context to the sounds he is acting out. Not an easy task. This is a very short beginning to a story.

Bunker Fever

Interesting. Just when you are getting into the story, it ends on a cliff hanger. I like the sound effects. Narrator did a good job. I received this audio book for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

Okay for what it is but the story is elsewhere.

I'm not sure what I expected for a 5 minute audio book... Maybe a synopsis or summary of the plot? What we get here is a quick one scene intro/tease to a zombie story and that's pretty much it. As interesting as it sounds, you really need to dig deeper into the comic and/or the web series on Amazon in order to get any meaningful entertainment from this. I would be interested in checking out more but I can't recommend using a credit for this and the cash price is too high for what you get.

It's a great introduction to the narrator but when the sample on the book page is 3/5 of the presentation what'st he point? With that said, the brief narration pace and voicing felt very reasonable and I would be interested in hearing more by this narrator.

Overall, I feel like the publisher's summary gives you more information than this short 5 minute narration which makes me feel like it's a bit misleading when the real meat of the content is found elsewhere.

Very short but a different fun read

This was an interesting read for me. I'm a big zombie fan and can say I haven't read something like this before. It almost goes from a third person description into a first person at times. Narrator is pretty good for the type of audio style.
