I normally listen to romantic comedies, so this was a bit different for me! But I was completely absorbed by the story and the mysterious tone of the narrator.

It’s also quite a short story compared to what I usually listen to, which meant I ended up listening to the whole thing in one hit — always a good sign! I was intrigued from the start and kept wanting to know what was really going on and how it was all going to unfold.

Definitely a change from my usual listens, but I really enjoyed it.

I enjoy discovering new to me authors and the blurb for this book/short story drew me in. I did listen to the whole thing (at increased playback speed) but found it dragged despite the short length and my increased pace. The story didn’t hold my attention, some phrases were very repetitive throughout, and the ending didn’t actually feel like an ending leaving me to wonder if I just listened to a kind of sample - but I don’t plan on going looking for the full book if that is the case.

Sadly not for me.
