Summary

A group calling itself The Divine Essence Discovery Evangelists plans to expand its operations when it purchases The Tall Pines Ranch in the small Oklahoma town of Colby.

The citizens are up in arms to prevent what they’re calling a cult from ruining their quaint little town. Someone must stop the cult at all cost.

Enter - “The Widower’s Club”, four comical but loveable elderly gentlemen, inseparable friends, who develop a plan to stop the cult in its tracks. But when an attractive 58-year-old divorcee, named Delores Dodd (Dee Dee) arrives in town, she quickly catches the eyes of “The Widower’s Club”, which may distract them from their plan.

In a town filled with gossiping, quirky, down-home folks, as well as a few shady characters, anything can happen in the small town of Colby.

The Widowers Club

Another great book by Jim D Jordan, excellent narration by Stephen Lookadoo. I listened to book 2 first but it didn't detract from my enjoyment, same characters, different stories. I definitely recommend both.

I loved the narration of Stephen Lookadoo

Loved senior citizens, John, Jake, Leroy, and Bobby. Who are knows as The Widowers Club. These wonderful characters develop a plan to stop the cult in its tracks, that has appeared in their town.

Throw a beautiful woman, who has also appeared in town. You have a great mystery .

Enjoyable cozy mystery

An enjoyable cozy mystery with four fun lead characters. I liked the four geriatric leads, great characters with a good banter and a close relationship. The story is very good, but a few plotlines felt slightly weak. I really liked the ending, lots of action and a satisfactory conclusion. The narration is also well performed but the narrator struggled to produce an English accent and the character kept loosing it. Still an enjoyable story very much worth a listen for the characters alone. A solid 4 star book and I will happily listen to more of these. I received a complimentary copy from the author and am leaving a honest voluntary review.
