About this listen

WHO JUDGES A JUDGE?

A corrupt judge is getting away with murder.

Lacy Stoltz investigates judicial misconduct in Florida. When she meets Greg Meyers, an indicted lawyer, he tells her a secret that will put her in the firing line.

Myers has dirt on a judge in league with organised crime who had forced through legislation to build a casino on a Native American reservation. Anyone who opposed the crooked scheme is dead. Now, Myers wants Lacy to make the judge's crimes public.

But if she does, Lacy will be gambling with her life...

This book has been the straw that broke the camels back for me. I have bought Grisham books for years and loved them. The past few have been so awful I am convinced either he has lost his mojo or someone else is writing them. I won't be buying any more.

The narrator does their best with a really dull, piece of work.

His earlier work is brilliant, buy it - buy it but I would steer clear of his last half dozen books.

Bought this as soon as it was released as I'm a big Grisham fan. It's nothing like as good as his other books. Quite turgid and I think he needs to re-assess whether he can write from a female point of view (I would say not).
The female narrator has a very limited range and as most of the characters are male, really didn't do a great job with male voices. I wonder why it was decided to have a female narrator?
Give this one a miss.

What a disappointment

John Grisham has written some great novels but this was disappointing. Never really got going for me but was quite entertaining in parts. Not a complete waste of time but less than I expected .
