Summary

After her divorce, Charlene Dugan vowed never to get married again - a promise she has kept for twenty-five years. Until the fateful day she finds herself uttering the well-known phrase - "Let's get married!" Almost immediately, Charlene's seemingly perfect life begins unraveling at the seams. Daughter Stephanie's own relationship is about to disintegrate, and she might be just a teensy-weensy bit jealous of her mom. And Charlene seems to be spending more time with her ex-husband than with her fiancé, Dennis. What's more confusing is that Dennis doesn't seem to mind too much. In fact, he sees the wedding consultant more often than Charlene does. The wedding party is now officially out of control. They're calling for rain and the bride has cold feet. This isn't exactly what Charlene had in mind. But maybe it's not too late to finally decide on who and what she really wants.

Laughed aloud, but lots of insight too

Therese Plummer is an excellent narrator, as always. She has a wide variety of voices, great with both male and female characters. Very straightforward and natural.

Lots of characters, and a very human set of events. Enjoyed the humourous moments, as well as those where characters came to greater self-awareness. Highly recommend this great story. I thought it was one of Robyn Carr's best.

Easy read

Pretty good, fast pace book. Not a turn pager, I can't wait to read, book... But enjoyed listening to it while doing something else. Easy to follow

So disappointed

I have read so many of Robyn Carr’s books but was VERY disappointed in this story. There was very little that was enjoyable. The one positive thing was that Therese Plummer narrated this story...the one redeeming value of this entire production!!

Great Book! I wasn't disappointed!

Robyn Carr is one of my favorite authors! I enjoy reading her books. I was not disappointed in this one. Overall it was a very good "uplifting" book! The narrator was easy to listen too and it was a great story line as usual.

This one wasn’t as good as most

Maybe is was the subject line, divorce. This is the first book of Robyn’s I’ve had trouble getting through. She is capable of much better.

Cheaters and Whiners

While I usually enjoy Ms. Carr's novels, I found The Wedding Party disappointing, particularly since most of the main characters were over 40. I also don't like when the main characters cheat on their significant others, rather than break off their relationships before hopping in bed with other people. As someone questioned: if you will cheat with me, I guess I should wonder if one day you will cheat on me?

Good read

Ups and downs. Nice planned out plots. Her books never disappoint really. The story revolves around a mother, her daughter and grandmother. With all styles of love issues.
