The W.B. Yeats Collection: Selected Poetry, Dramatis Personae, & The Irish Dramatic Movement.

Explore the extraordinary legacy of W.B. Yeats through a collection that brings together his finest poetry, personal reflections, and writings on Ireland's literary revival.

Known for his romantic and lyrical style of poetry, Yeats's work was often inspired by Irish myths, spiritualism, love, longing and loss. His later work became more modernist in style, challenging poetic conventions and shifting to a political focus. In this definitive collection, you will find some of Yeats's most noteworthy poems, written from the late nineteenth century right up until his death in 1939.

Described by Yeats as a 'bread and butter' letter to Sweden, and 'at last a part of [his] autobiography', The Bounty of Sweden compellingly recounts his journey to Stockholm to accept the prestigious Nobel Prize in Literature.

An exemplary piece of travel writing, The Bounty of Sweden includes a profound meditation on Stockholm itself, detailing Yeats's fascination with the Swedish Royal Court and documenting his charming encounters with the local people of the city. Also contained in this publication is Yeats's lecture – 'The Irish Dramatic Movement' – which he delivered to the Swedish Academy the same year as winning the Nobel Prize. This audiobook edition is expertly read by Aidan Kelly.

Together, these works reveal Yeats as not only a remarkable poet but also a playwright, memoirist, and cultural visionary whose influence continues to shape literature around the world.

William Butler Yeats (1865 – 1939) was an Irish poet and playwright, renowned for winning the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1923. One of the most significant figures of twentieth century literature, Yeats was a primary contributor to the Irish Literary Revival through both his poetry and plays. He founded the Abbey Theatre in Dublin with Lady Gregory and served as its chief playwright for several years.
