After murdering her mother in front of her, vampires try to kidnap Chloe, but a group of vampire hunters arrives just in time to save her. Then comes the unbelievable truth, her mother was also a hunter and the vampires who killed her were actually sent by her father. Chloe is determined to avenge her mother's death and tries to learn as much as she can from her family so she can be ready when the time comes.
The book is set in 6 short parts and overall is still quite short but fast moving. You won't be able to read just one part! Though the story does have a satisfying end I am intrigued to read more about this world. The Arcadia Falls Chronicles is the follow up so I hope to read this soon too. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed it but the narrator's heavy breaths detracted from the story and kept distracting me.
