Summary

The best part about a book, is that moment you can put it down, and say at least that can't happen in real life, until now. The Uninvited will leave you checking your doors, locking your windows and skipping the weekend camping trip. Meet the stranger, a killer who is unbiased about who it chooses to be the victim, and never tires of the killing. If Dexter and Leatherface had a baby, The Uninvited would be their offspring. Smart, dark, twisted, and disturbing is The Uninvited. If descriptive slasher books are for you, look no further! If you love Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Friday the 13th you have found the book for you with everything you could want with so much more than you are expecting to happen!

A must listen for any Horror /slasher fan

This was a fantastic Horror book. I loved the fact that i got to listen to a true horror book with all the killing, blood, and guts pouring out and games played but no rape or sexually violence. The killer just killed to kill thats what the killer liked to do . It keep me on my edge of the book wanting to not stop listing to see what was going to happen next . And then one part I was thinking OH HELLO NO ...... this is perfect. Must listen I think any Dexter and leather face fan will love this book Any slasher horror reader will as well . Give it a try you wont be disappointed

Remind You Of Anything

This book wasn't to bad,, but it is very gory and some of the killings in it reminded me a lot of many other horror movies put into a book. I saw some of Smilie, Friday the 13th (all of them lol) and some of Texas Chainsaw along with a few other slasher movies and TV shows. Nothing really different to be honest. The book has strong sexual content and gore, so it does hit home with the 1980s horror movies lol Still, I did give it 4 stars because honestly the narrator really made the book and OMG he and the writer were awsome with the one liner laughs and I just loved the horror mixed with the comic relief! Yes, I recommend the book and the narrator!! It's worth it, why not try it. I was given this book for free at my request and I gave my honest review on my own without being asked in anyway at all.

A slasher book extraordinaire.

Yes! A gorey, creepy slasher read. This book is so realistic. It could indeed happen. That's why I now have a bat by my bed. Not that it would do me any good against the Stranger! The characters are all developed with humor added in. You get invested in them then..........This book is wicked. This book is harsh. This book is explicit. This book is Very Entertaining! And there are three more in the series! Yah! I listened to it on Audible. The narrator did a nice job of performing the characters. He did fine by me. It was intense!

best to sleep with the lights on

Mr. Evans knows how to create nightmares and this series doesn't need the night to scare the heck out of you. I've read the series and when I found out Mr. Salzman was going to narrate the series, well, how does one not listen. The Uninvited is worth listening to and it starts off creepy and ends....well, it ends even creepier. I've found, if Mr. Evans wrote it, you might need therapy when you're done.

Suspenseful!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Uninvited to be better than the print version?

I have only listened to the audio, which i enjoyed (despite not being a big fan of horror stories).

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Uninvited?

suspenseful reading

Have you listened to any of S.W. Salzman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

i enjoy S.W. Salzman's audio readings!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Sadly, i never have that much time - but i would have if I ever found that much time.

Any additional comments?

Love audiobooks! I drive a lot and it is nice to get lost in a book.

WOW

I had read Mike Evans Orphans series and love it and someone recommended this book. Oh my goodness it is awesome my daughter and I listened together and were on the edge of our seats. From the writing to the narration we were pleased and kept on edge like you pray a story of this type to do. Bravo

Bad writing

Any additional comments?

The story could have been good but the writing is at a Junior High level. Too much detailed conversation during intense moments. Who has a full on conversation/ argument about weekend plans during Sex?! Not just making out talking but full on sex. And when a serial killer is running full force at you, you don’t stop to discuss the intricacies of your relationship with your husband. You F’ing RUN!!! Found myself repeatedly yelling at the book to just shut up already!!!

horror at its best

Any additional comments?

Mike Evans does a great job of going from the zombie genre to the horror genre with this book. Scares that come when you least expect it. once you start reading it you wont put it down until your done

Not for the feight at heart

This guy is Dexter squared. it is a great book if you really like the slasher, blood and guts, very detailed gory, extreme horror type books. If you don't, don't bother, you won't like it and will just complain, if you do like that kind of thing, well than what are you waiting for, check the locks turn up the lights and let s go.

This serial killer gets away with it and no one knows how, but he goes on terrorizing until the day the police finally blow him up or have they?

I had the audio in which narrator S.W. Salzman brings this story to life in my imagination more than I could have ever done it myself. His use of different voices and the way he made the story his own just made the whole experience so much more wonderful for me.
