Lovely Shakespeare stories for kids even though it’s a bit grim in some of them

Shakespeare

This audiobook is brilliant. For context, I’m a parent of a teenager studying Macbeth for GCSE, and back in the day, I drastically failed my English Lit O’level (also Macbeth) so can’t help my child understand it at all. Having said that, this book isn’t going to help pass exams, but it really helps to understand the basics.
I’ve spent my whole life hating the thought of Shakespeare and I just don’t have the capacity to read (or listen) to any of his works, which is a shame, as throughout life, I became aware of the fact that everyone seems to know something about some of his plays, and I’m ashamed that I don’t even know the basic stories or characters. For me, it’s now time to listen to simplified, abridged stories so that I can at least know what is so wonderful about Shakespeare. This book is exactly what I needed. I’m not embarrased that I’m 40 years older than the recommended listening age! You get to a point in life, when you just don’t care! This book is a tick off my bucket list tbh. Final comment… I still hate Macbeth! 🧙🏻‍♀️🧙🏻‍♀️🧙🏻‍♀️

One of those stories traumatised me but I loved the rest. Not awful. Could be better
