Summary

Two sisters. An intense bond. A bitter rivalry.

Margo is a solitary live-in nanny for an upper-class Kensingon family. Cora is a promiscuous dancer on the cusp of a big break, living hand-to-mouth in a run-down London flat.

Different though they are, an unspeakable incident from childhood haunts them both. When the terrible secret comes to light, their fragile existences shatter, pitting them against each other in a race for survival.

But can there be a winner when a secret is so dark?

Intriguing and likeable

An original storyline, I listened to this throughout all of a peaceful Sunday at home and on my commutes on Monday. I enjoyed the characters a lot. I still had questions at the end and things that seemed not to make sense in the mystery, but I think that's probably my fault for missing things here and there. A good thriller.

Edge of seat twist!

The Twins is such a clever story! As the story develops there are some great twists and turns and at one point I had the recording sped up to get find out what happened next quicker.

A thoroughly good thriller

Once started, I had to keep going. Incredibly enjoyable and well placed. I considered the outcome but second guessed myself the whole time because of how cleverly it was written. Quite a tragic ending but a very good book.

GOOD PLOT

I've not read a book like this before and I really enjoyed it.
The performance was excellent as each character had their own voice throughout so I knew exactly who was speaking.
I didn't expect the story to end so abruptly hence 4 stars.
Saying that I would still recommend.

Gripping from the start!

What a fantastic novel. Really had me from the beginning. Only one thing is that I personally didn’t appreciate the amount of foul language and crudity’s. But can see the reasons why it was written this way.

Baffled

This book took me so long to finish. I struggled to get in to it. I had to keep listening to the same chapters as it was confusing or I wasn’t taking it in. It didn’t grab my attention at all. I kept going though, and apart from one twist, which was good, it wasn’t worth the 10 days I wasted on it.

Don't think I'll bother to finish this.

Dull, formulaic and with poor use of language. I found myself wondering if the writer was unfamiliar with the English language as some references were simply wrong. I am thinking in particular of a reference to someone being wrapped around the finger of another, but it was back-to-front. I'm disappointed as it had such great reviews, but each to their own I guess.
