‘That wasn’t love. That was something else…’

She was his star pupil.

He was her favourite teacher.

Twelve years have passed. Now she’s coming for revenge.

Retracing the steps of her youth, Eloise Hart returns to the secondary school where she studied under the mercurial brilliance of Jack Collins. But Eloise isn’t here to teach the young minds of tomorrow, she’s here to burn this man from the inside out.

When she discovers sixteen year old Olivia in her class, a new musical prodigy at the school, the echoes of the past begin to feel dangerously close. Who does Olivia remind her of? Why does Eloise feel both rejected and protective? What once felt so clear, quickly becomes clouded with competing desires.

As old secrets burn with new flames, Eloise must master the very feelings that have shaped her to stop history repeating itself again. And so begins a thrilling game of cat and mouse between the master and the apprentice, where each has the power to destroy the other. But what happens when you no longer recognise your instincts? Who do you turn to when you can no longer trust yourself?

Narrated by BAFTA winner, Mia McKenna-Bruce (HOW TO HAVE SEX) and Alex Hassell (RIVALS), The Tutor is a twisting thriller exploring the abuse of power, consent and the biddable nature of the human heart.

Bold and unflinching, Rosie Day confirms herself as a powerful new voice in fiction.

had to listen to the end but really is that how we teach vulnerable abused victims to behave. and I'm sorry but the voices were extremely annoying to me. it verbalised "I'm a victim" in a pathetic simper. sorry don't like to criticise any talent people have but I thought those was all wrong for a crime fiction.

was this written from experience or a weird expectation of teacher abuse?

Well written, evocative and entirely convincing storytelling. Excellent performances by the two actors - their voices are brilliant for audio books.
