Summary

New York Times best-selling author and Hollywood producer DeVon Franklin speaks out frankly and openly about why men behave the way they do and what everyone - men and women alike - need to know about it.

We hear it all the time. Men cheat. Men love power. Men love sex. Men are greedy. Men are dogs. But is this the truth about men?

In this groundbreaking audiobook, DeVon Franklin dishes the real Truth About Men by making the compelling case that men aren’t dogs, but all men share the same struggle. He uses the metaphor of a dog that needs training as a way to explore why behaviour persists in men that can lead them to act against their vows, their integrity and even their character.

DeVon provides the manual for how men can change, both on a personal and a societal level, by providing practical solutions for helping men learn how to resist temptation, how to practice self-control and how to love. He argues the same discipline that drives men in their professional lives needs to be applied to their private lives. DeVon is also transparent about the challenges he faces daily as he endeavours to 'Master the Dog' within.

But The Truth About Men isn’t just for men. DeVon tells female listeners everything they need to know about men. He offers women a real-time understanding of how men’s struggle effects them, insights that can help them navigate their relationships with men and information on how to heal from the damage that some misbehaving men may have inflicted.

This audiobook is a raw, informative and compelling look at an issue that threatens to tear our society apart, yet it offers a positive way forward for men and women alike.

Truthful, Insightful and Confirmation Read🙏🏾

Devon’s Analogy of a dog and using this a reference to men that have challenges with controlling their sexual intentions, was done so eloquently but still firm with bags of truth. He was also able to capture how and what women can do to support men, whilst ensuring we did not blame ourselves for any bad behaviour with men. I read this book after reading both ‘The Man God has for me’ and ‘Male Vs Man’ and what a great sequel to read when on a journey to having a better relationship with oneself and with men in a relationship. I highly recommend reading this book to better understand men and how to support yourself and men whilst entering or being in a relationship. Devon thank you 🙏🏾 for writing this book and confirming the way I have lived my life in being the best me.

Dreadful book, completely repetitive and boring.

Absolutely dreadful book. Just constantly repeats and no real advice.

Men, this book will light the challenges we face

Insightful book into mind of us men. The battle between "the dog" in us, and "the master" in us. DeVon alludes to how certain family situations give more rise to us being controlled by "the dog", but this is something that affects most men. Even in a stable household, the pull towards racking up sexual conquests can still be strong.

Good book and well read. Worth sharing with as many brothers as possible.

What a great insight of what we both need. I refer to men and women. How do address our needs and how men have to come to the truth of the dog and master. Thanks for sharing these tips.

Practical, Insightful and Honest.

Absolute necessary read for both men and women. There are practical steps given to deal with the themes presented in this book. DeVon is extremely relatable in his approach and presents insight that is often times overlooked in behaviours adopted by males and unfortunately accepted by females. Once purchased I literally could not stop reading. This truly is a must read.
