'The very definition of a one-sitting read' ROBERT RUTHERFORD

Cam Killick left the special forces with a handful of medals, stories he can’t share and PTSD so bad he can only find peace under water. Working as a salvage diver in the Norfolk Broads keeps him sane, and the county’s many tales of the lost keep him busy.

And one particular local unsolved mystery calls to him.

Freddie and Maud Brindley and their children Tommy and Hannah left a party in 1987, and none of them, nor their green Jaguar, were ever seen again. Convinced he can succeed where others have failed, Cam begins his search – but when at last he finds the Jaguar at the bottom of a lake, it’s empty. No bodies. No real answers.

And suddenly finding the car itself is not enough. Cam has to know what happened to the Brindleys. But he needs to watch his back. Some secrets, once submerged, should stay that way.

A gripping, propulsive and atmospheric crime thriller perfect for fans of Ann Cleeves, Peter James and Elly Griffiths. Your new crime obsession starts here...©2025 Rob Parker (P)2025 Bloomsbury Publishing Plc

This was a great read. I have zero interest in diving, but I bought this after a recommendation online. So glad I did, really enjoyed it. No spoilers, but it’ll keep you guessing till the end. The narrator captures the main characters personality brilliantly. Highly recommend if you want something a bit different.

Atmospheric and exciting

I enjoyed the characterisation and the reveal with its twists and turns. Great main character…will there be a second in the series?

Original main character. Different plot

Loved getting to know the characters, the descriptions are so vivid and evocative. Perfect blend of twisted plotting and pace

Fast paced, unique and brilliantly written

This will appeal to those who like the detective thrillers of David Blake.. whilst it is a solemn affair, without the same little humorous elements, its detail on the Broads is more accurate (no reference to tow paths..) and it’s a good plot. My only gripe on the audiio book is giving the main man a rather grating Yorkshire accent, like Sean Bean.. no lilting Norfolk accents to be heard.

Enjoyable thriller on Norfolk Broads

Interesting main character and plot, well written by Rob Parker and good narration by Luke R Francis. I hope there’s a second novel in the works, I shan’t hesitate to buy it.

Very enjoyable
