I liked the concept of the book and interesting in parts but I honestly found it all a bit cringy, not helped by the wooden narration. I think this is the first book I’ve read where there wasn’t some kind of “acting”.. it was like someone was just reading the book to me, which turns out I don’t really enjoy! I couldn’t picture the characters, so couldn’t form any kind of connection to them. Might have been the lack of description not helped by the character voices pretty much being identical. I nearly quit by the time I got to the last hour and it was all just a bit pointless, with boring conversations and people eating salad (well lots of food in fact!).. the last half hour being told as a teaser for Alex’s story was much more interesting than the majority of this book.. but I don’t think I can put myself through another 5 plus hours of that narration.

REALLY brilliant story line of a group of ladies who get hired to keep the wife's fit in more ways than training, really great characters all the way through and really brilliant narration with a happy ending but where is the end of the story 🤔🤔

Oh Ali this is not one of your best works ! I think it's a self indulgence done badly ! The premise is a really good one but you didn't pull it off. The writing is poor and the narration is hit and miss (that is when you can work out who is talking ) I think at 6 hours (there's an addendum by Annette Mori) you didn't give the story enough time to evolve , that and the poor writing short changed the 'listener' ?. I'm not sure why AM did an addendum for you probably to leave a sequel open ? Overall a really good idea done badly !
