The Time Being is written by Antonia Honeywell and is the short story prequel to the full length audiobook The Ship, narrated by actress Melody Grove. This is a beautifully written and intricately constructed story entwined with suspense. Futuristic London is a dangerous and uninviting place. Young Lalla, like all children, is focused only on survival. When the government offers the people a chance for a real future, Lalla is suspicious. Will she risk everything for the promise of protection? What secrets do the government have lying inside Regent’s Park? Available now from Audible.

I didn't really enjoy this short story but am glad I listened to it. There was nothing wrong with it only that I now know that I definitely don't like this genre. I expect many people will enjoy it but unfortunately it's not for me.I like the fact that it was a free short story because it gave me an opportunity to try a new genre without investing in a full length book

It is an interesting take on the world, read well and interesting. Probably wouldn't read the series personally but others will like it.
