About this listen

The gods want her dead … Hades will bury them.

You’d think I’d have learned by now:

Don’t mouth off to deities.

Don’t fall for the King of the Underworld.

And definitely don’t get dragged into a divine death match where I’m the cursed mortal prize.

But here I am―trapped in Tartarus, humanity’s worst pit stop, squaring off against monsters who make the gods look merciful. Titans, twisted by centuries of rage and ruin, are sealed behind seven ancient locks.

And guess what?

I'm the key.

To escape, I’ll have to survive every horrifying trial they throw at me.

To win, I might have to become something the gods never saw coming.

Oh, and Hades?

He's about to break every rule the gods ever wrote.

Because to save me … the god of death will burn the world.

But if I break free? So do the Titans.

And the world won’t just suffer―it'll beg for the end.

Loved it 😊 Explosive, mind-bending, takes everything established in The Games Gods Play and shatters it, rebuilding the world on a foundation of time loops, Titans, and devastating mythological secrets.

This central setup is forcing Lyra to navigate terrifying, god-engineered trials alongside her friend Boone, all while struggling with her new goddess powers and the crushing separation from Hades.

The use of time pockets gives us glimpses into Hades’ troubled past. It's confusing in the best way. These non-linear scenes don't just add action, they give emotional context and justification to Hades' enigmatic behaviour from Book 1.

It’s fast-paced, more intricate, and far more ambitious than the first book, using a complex time-bending structure to fill in the plot holes and explain the why behind some of the mysterious events of The Games Gods Play. I also loved Lyra/Cronos relationship (can't say more without spoilers). Get ready for breathtaking twists, and a killer cliffhanger. I could barely breath through the last few chapters 🫣

The audiobook was great.

Great read/audio

This book was incredible! I wasn’t sure how Abigail would top book one, especially with a middle book in a trilogy tending to fall flat. But by the gods did she top it!
The plotting in this book was an absolute masterpiece! The drama, suspense and action pulled you through the whole book on the edge of your seat. I have so much love for all the characters in this book, the found family has grown so much and their love brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion. And the gasps! Oh I have gasped, never truly being able to figure out what was coming next as Abigail expertly wove the story together. And of course another cliffhanger 🤦🏼‍♀️😂
Thank you Abigail for this book, I have loved every second. Bring on book 3!!
