Good story, Bland narrator

Kept losing interest due to the boring tones of the narrator, however the story was good

Tedious

I really tried to stick with this, but with two hours left to go, I finally gave-up. I found it rather tedious and couldn’t care about any of the characters. What a disappointment.

Don’t waste time and money

Daft story and so repetitive. It could have been told in half the time in audio books

Boring, full of holes, unrealistic

I’ve enjoyed previous books by this author and was looking forward to this one, but sadly it was very disappointing. The whole story relies on the protagonist telling a lie to her boyfriend and neighbours after a stranger turns up at a party. I can see no reason for the lie and without it the story would have fell apart.

Poor and disappointing

it's hard to believe this is the same author as that of the previous good novels. Flat story, flat narration, chick lit for much of the book, very disappointing. Wish I had got a refund instead of wasting my time listening.

Put me to sleep

The narrator is good, but even she couldn’t save this slow and boring plot line. I fell asleep twice while I tried powering through this book, and that is a first for me. Slow plot, repetitive and all the characters are shallow and unlikable. Pass.

Standard Stuff

Not really the suspense thriller that I was hoping for, just a "Who Dun It" kind of story, along with a few relationship issues. Set in a gated community of 12 houses, newcomer Alice sets out to solve a murder puzzle. Lots of asking questions, and lots of neighbour" type conversations. Quite a long drawn out ending, waiting for the twist that never came. Our reader, Olivia Dowd, gives a passable performance. She has a clear reading voice, but every character sounds the same.
