Summary

June 1190. A Knight Templar, Johannes von Hartelius, rescues the Holy Lance from his drowning King during the Third Crusade.

April 1945. A courier arrives at the Hitler bunker with a parcel. The Führer calls for a vacuum canister to be brought, seals the documents he has received inside it, attaches the canister to a leather case containing the Holy Lance, and sends it away, guarded by a descendant of Johannes von Hartelius.

Present day. British photojournalist John Hart finds his father crucified, with the mark of a spear in his side. Shattered and bewildered, Hart learns for the very first time of his family's destiny - to be the Guardians of the Lance.

As Hart begins to investigate, he discovers a German occult right-wing organization called the Brotherhood of the Lance. Hart infiltrates the organization to investigate his father's murder - but the secret of the Lance is more terrifying than he could ever have imagined.

Truly, truly, truly awful...

...the precis says this book is staged in 3 eras - the 1100s, the second world war and the modern day - it spends the first 5 mins in the former, about 10 mins in WWII and the remainder in the modern day. Given the amount of audio books I read I really should review more. The only way I can describe this is a badly written Mills & Boon. It's almost pornographic in parts and John Hart as the main character is almost dumbfoundingly stupid...do not buy it, it is awful!

Narration

Book incredible on every level -totally involving characters (good AND bad!!) wonderful storytelling, plotline plausible and breathtaking (shouldn't have been but it was!) but for me, sad audible addict that I am, the incredible, outstanding narration was possibly the best, most sensitive reading of a 'thriller' that l have ever heard. l SO wish I could write like Mario Reading, and read aloud like the reader of this book! both unforgettable....

Dreadful story, well read

Unfortunately this is the second time I've had to endure this misogynistic and homophobic tripe (as I'd deleted the first reading of it from my memory). The marketing for this book seems to promise an adventure about templars and relics but provides neither. If you're into aggressive Nazi themed non consensual sex however, this might be the book for you.

Had very little to do with Templars or prophecy's

started off with a great story but dwindelled into some juvinial 50 shades of grey story with a very predictable ending.
