A lot of the social stuff I deal with now isn’t even in person, it’s online. This book talked about those things too, like how to respond in group texts without overthinking, or what to do when a friend is being passive-aggressive. It felt really current, not outdated like some other books. Definitely helpful for modern teen life.

Some books make you feel like you have to be perfect overnight. This one gave me a hopeful feeling to take it slow and just work on small things each day. I used to dread school presentations, but now I approach them with way less fear. It doesn’t make social life “easy,” but it makes it manageable.

My son’s counselor suggested this book when he was feeling left out at school. It helped him understand that a lot of people feel that way, even if they don’t say it. He’s started engaging more and has stopped being so hard on himself after social interactions. I can tell it gave him something to hold onto.

I listened to this on Audible while riding the bus to school. It gave me a calm, confident start to my day and helped shift how I approach people. One day I actually said “hi” to someone I’d usually avoid, and they smiled and talked to me! It’s wild how small stuff like that adds up.

My niece has always been quiet and unsure of herself in group settings, especially at school. After reading this, she started volunteering answers more in class and even joined a club she’d been too nervous to try before. She told me it made her feels a little more confident. That kind of shift doesn’t happen often with just one book.
