Story
I've had to move out of the city and into the house I inherited here, in the idyllic fishing village of Porthcove, but only for as long as it takes to sell it. You see, I need the money, so I've started seeing some of the locals, you know, as patients, but I tell you, there's something really disturbing about charming neighbors sharing chilling secrets. And it isn't just that. It's the other things. Strange, inexplicable things. It started with odd smells, creepy sounds, and then the intruders...oh God, the intruders.

Story
Compiled by Xtina Marie, this heart-stopping conglomeration of terror represents the coming together of a whole bunch of the finest independent horror authors writing today.
Summary
Three terrifying novels in one collection from master of horror, Lee Mountford. The Demonic, The Mark, and Forest of the Damned are now all available in one horrifying volume.
The Demonic: A woman returns to her childhood home to lay to rest the ghosts of the past. But in this house, the ghosts are real, and evil has found a home.
The Mark: A satanic cult. A woman's brutal assault. Can one woman face her darkest fears before a demonic entity is unleashed from the depths of hell?
Forest of the Damned: A group of paranormal researchers investigate the infamous Black Forest, hoping to find proof of the afterlife and learn more of the infamous Mother Sibbett. But what they find is far beyond even their worst nightmares.
Listen to The Supernatural Horror Collection now, and strap in for three terrifying tales of ghosts, demons, death, and fear.
"The Demonic, by author Lee Mountford, is a horror tour de force.... It is scary. Truly scary." (HorrorNovelReviews.com on The Demonic)
"There's a slow build-up of dread, as he builds the characters and atmosphere, and slowly unwinds the story. At times, he dangles you over the edge for a few moments before he plunges you over the edge. And this is where his storytelling is a cut above many of his peers." (IntoTheMacabre.com on The Mark)
"I find that it’s often the details we least expect that elevate a novel’s status in our mind, and keep it there longer. A great testament to Mountford’s skill as a writer, is that I can still vividly 'see' many of the scenes in my mind, several books afterward. Highly recommended." (HorrorAfterDark.com on Forest of the Damned)

A great set for those who love the supernatural
In the past I had previously read 'the forest of the damned' so I was overjoyed to have the opportunity to read more books by the author. Lee Mountford is so descriptive and really knows how to build up the underlying tension and push you to the edge of your seat. The narrator has the perfect voice to bring the stories to life with very clear and precise pronunciation. I recommend this set to anybody looking for a chilling read especially over the Halloween period. I hope to read more books by the author in the future as he is fast becoming one of my favourite writers within this genre. I was given this book by the author/narrator in return for an honest and unbiased review

Hmmm...what’s with the sickening sex?
The Demonic and The Mark, were enjoyable and eerie enough. The Forest, though? I really do not understand the porno/horror connection. The idea of the story seemed pretty cool. Ghost hunters explore a creepy forest that people, over the years have not returned from. Lost settlement investigation, as well. But the characters, fueled by black goo and some devil woman start having graphic sex. When they find the list settlement, the dead are even engaging in sexual positions! Over the top. Seriously sick of looking for fun scary books only to find twisted sex scenes. Couldn’t finish Forest of the Damned. Should have been titled Forest of the Damn Porn. Lol

Too focused on sexual assault.
I don't shy away from most horror, and infact the more gruesome scenes are incredibly exciting and thrilling. This series hower, focused a lot on sexual assault and rape. In the final piece we get a POV torture/rape scene from the perspective of the victim which was frankly over the top. The stories are otherwise good, and the premise of eldritch old gods was enjoyable enough, the focus on assault removed a lot of enjoyment from this story.

Boring
Simplistic and cheesy. inner monologue is horribly extensive. reader is the most monotone person I've ever heard on this app. characters were poorly developed. I found myself rooting for the demon/demons most of the time from dislike of the main characters. barely made it through the first book and had enough 30 min into the second.

What a ride!
The only thing that comes to mind is disturbing, some what in a good way and some what in a bad way. Either way this is one of those books that linger on in your after reading or listening to. The characters come to life in your head and don't want to leave and won't pay rent. I love how there are some sound effects and music. It would have been awesome if there were more.

Abandon all hope ye who enter here
Well now... Mr Mountford certainly has set up a very interesting universe here. Most people will immediately associate it as Lovecraftian. However I've noticed that he writes his stories with the cynicism, desperation and ultimate helplessness of a Clive Barker tale. It is a world where unfathomable supernatural evil lurks, but there is no God. No ultimate good in opposition to these forces. It sets up a kind of hopelessness and desperation in the main protagonists that I have never seen in all my years reading fiction. And strangely, it works. This is especially true of "The Forest". The absolute most cynical horror book I have ever read in my life. Cookie have definitely done without the disgusting drawn out descriptive "sex scenes". That said I'll definitely be looking forward to more from this author/ Narrator combo. Hannibal Hills did a good job. Though I'm some instances he was a little over the top and in other cases down right cheesy. All in all, great writing. The descriptions of the horrors in these tales puts you right there in the middle of the nightmarish scenarios. Very good. Give the good guys a fighting chance though will ya?
