About this listen

It’s going to be a summer she’ll never forget.

Claire’s little sister Holly has been working on the millionaire’s playground of Martha’s Vineyard, going to barefoot beach parties and flirting with the local rich kids. But now she’s missing and none of the locals seem to care, including the police. They think a message Claire received is proof she’s safe.

But Claire knows for a fact that her sister didn’t send it.

What will she have to risk to find out the truth? Who are the locals protecting? And what does it have to do with another girl who went missing five years ago?

An unmissable psychological thriller summer listen from the #1 bestselling author, for fans of Heidi Perks, Claire Douglas and Lucy Clarke.

predictable story and the ending was ridiculous in my opinion. so many plot holes with an absolutely unreasonable response by the main character (s) to a very reasonable and real situation.

predictable and a disappointing/ silly ending!

Good story but particularly the passages dealing with grief were written so beautifully I really felt them. The writer deals with emotion so well.

Great writing!

From the very first chapter, ‘The Summer Girl’ had me hooked. Jenny Blackhurst’s storytelling is masterful, pulling you into the lives of her characters and keeping you second-guessing every motive. But what truly elevated the experience was Laura Aikman’s narration — she brought the story to life with such authenticity and emotion. Her performance made every character feel real and nuanced.

Just when I thought I had things figured out, the twist at the end completely stunned me — I had to stop and replay it to make sure I heard it right! If you love suspense, complex characters, and a narrator who truly makes a difference, this is the audiobook for you.

Highly recommended — I couldn't stop listening.

It was a pretty decent thriller story read by a good reader. Often the voice narrating drives me bananas, but I liked her.

For once it was a narration that didn’t annoy me! 😂

I rattled through this - plenty of wondering what happened and whodunnit. Good narration. Not cheesy or predictable.

A good mystery
