About this listen

Fiercely independent Daisy Chance has a dream - and it doesn't involve marriage or babies (or being under any man's thumb). Raised in poverty, she has a passion - and a talent - for making beautiful clothes. Daisy aims to become the finest dressmaker in London.

Dashing Irishman Patrick Flynn is wealthy and ambitious and has entered society to find an aristocratic bride. Instead he finds himself growing increasingly attracted to the headstrong, clever, and outspoken Daisy. She's wrong in every way - except the way she sets his heart racing.

However, when Flynn proposes marriage, Daisy refuses. She won't give up her hard-won independence. Besides, she doesn't want to join the fine ladies of society - she wants to dress them. She might, however, consider becoming Flynn's secret mistress....

But Flynn wants a wife, not a mistress, and when Flynn sets his heart on something, nothing can stand in his way.

I normally loath series in a book as usually they become dull - tiresome and boring in my view and often I would make out of various book simply one thrilling one BUT Anne Gracie’s series is wonderful- as each story is COMPLETE IN ITS OWN - which speaks for the author …
Also she a wonderful way of building up a story and keeps one entertained ….
Where the other books has less sex - here the author throws to bring in more - which I personally find not necessary as the story in itself was great 👍

Again Alison Larkin did a fabulous job in keeping all the characters unique and made them lovable and special !!!

Thank you for a great entertaining time !!!

A very different and thoroughly charming Regency romance. The excellent narrator did it full justice.

What did you like most about The Summer Bride?

How everything was so nicely wrapped up.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The butler, he was just wonderful through the whole series.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

This series should be rerecorded with a better narrator. She just does mispronounce too often and can not do male voices even if her life depended on it.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Never have any great answer to this question.

Any additional comments?

PIty about the narrator, but I enjoyed the series but would have wished to have skipped book three.

Skip book three and proceed to this one!
