Story
As the most hated player in baseball, I had two options: either clean up my image, or pack my bags. Being traded wasn't an option which only meant one thing, I had to become compliant. That's how I found myself sharing a small bistro table with Kate Chapman, the Chicago Bobbies newest PR Manager. Devastatingly beautiful, vastly intelligent, and incredibly cunning, she knows exactly how to handle my grumpy demeanor. It was supposed to be simple. Book some PR events, show up, smile for the camera, and be done. But one massive mistake on my end sends me into the trenches with Kate.

Story
Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room? If you haven't, let me enlighten you: Legend has it, if you bring a girl into the sacred aftergame domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included. So, when the girl I've fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe, it's time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room. The only question is, will she accept?

Story
I’ve recently become the pawn of a meddling mom. Yes...a meddling mom - who's been trying to set me up all summer. Now, I understand it’s not a crime for a mother to want her child to fall in love, but when she makes it her relentless mission, the heinous act should be classified as a misdemeanor at least. Of course, my mom, the evil matriarch in the devil’s leggings, made her final stab at finding a girl for me days before I went back to college.

I got the dreaded phone call, the one every baseball player hopes and prays never comes. I was traded - yeah, that phone call - traded from my longtime team of over 10 years to not just any team...to my childhood rivals, the Chicago Rebels. I was completely and utterly screwed, right? Wrong. The trade was the least of my concerns. I met a girl, Natalie. She was perfect, but I swore I would never get involved with anyone during the season. It was too complicated. But can you believe I had zero restraint when it came to this girl?

Breaking news: The bad boy of baseball, Maddox Paige, is totally and utterly whipped. Okay, that might not be the headline in the newspaper this morning, but it's the reality of my current situation. It all started a month ago when I received a call from my best friend, Kinsley. She’d gotten a new job in Chicago and needed a place to stay. I've known the girl since I was five, so I figured there wouldn't be any harm in having her stay at my place for a while. Ha! Total disaster.

Am I friends with JP Cane? Ha! That's laughable. Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons...multiple times a day. So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, 24-7. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

I knocked up my best friend's sister. Let's start with how she decided to inform me and Pacey the news...together. Imagine that nightmare. I was going into what I thought was a hockey marketing meeting, and then bam! I'm going to be a dad and my best friend/teammate is attempting to imprint my face with his fist. Threats were tossed around, friendships were revoked, and then I was marched up to her apartment, suitcases in hand, and forced to live with her so I could take care of her every need. Now I'm finding it harder and harder not to fall for my best friend's little sister.

"She went home with someone else that night?" I would like to make it known, I have a lot more swagger than what it seems. I don't normally ask a girl out, have her fail to recognize it's a date, and then give me a high five - as if I'm her wingman - and take off with someone else. No. Normally I'm the one taking the girl home, but with Stella, it's been one failed attempt after another and frankly, I'm done trying. But thanks to my best friend getting married in Hawaii right before the school year starts, I'm stuck on a tropical island.

How did I go from being insulted by Charlee Cox to hiring her to be my assistant? How is it that she’s chaos in color - making me crazy and my life better at the same time? I never thought I would be staring down at her bright blue eyes begging me to go along with the ridiculous scheme I suggested. Yes, I suggested it. Like the idiot I am, I thought hey, why not start an HR nightmare and have my assistant ask me to marry her? Confused? Don’t worry, so am I.

The better captured me; she's who stole my heart and made me realize I couldn’t live without this woman. The worst of her took my breath away - kicked me when I was down and twisted me into a million knots. When I first met her, I thought she was someone I would never see again. The second time I ran into her, it was a random coincidence. The third? I didn’t know it at the time, but she was the girl I was going to marry. But life isn’t always perfect. You have to take the better and the worse - even if it means giving her up.

Five hockey players, a cabin in the woods...and little old me, Winnie Berlin. Sounds like the start of a fantasy, right? But it's not. It's my reality. It all started when I got lost in the middle of the Canadian Rockies. A wicked thunderstorm sent my car mud sliding into a ditch, and for a girl whose survival skills involve finding the nearest Starbucks, I was in deep trouble. Forced to abandon my car in search of help, I stumbled upon a cabin in the middle of nowhere.

The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow. My meet cute (well, not so meet cute) is slightly different. I was trolling a wealthy neighborhood in Beverly Hills, searching for someone to take me as their bride, you know, to make my arch nemesis jealous who consequently just fired me.

A hot story
- By Demetra Toula Iliopoulos on 14-11-21
Summary
It started with one night out with the boys. She was the hot diner waitress putting herself through school. I was the rich, arrogant player everyone misjudges. On paper, we didn’t match. Yet all it took was one day. One single day to change her mind.
She wasn’t planning to spend her day off with me. She wasn’t supposed to fall for my charm. But one day, one smile, turned into several nights of her calling out my name.
I’m not the guy she should end up with. I’m jealous, possessive. Not here for a long time - just a good time. She’s changed me. But, for some reason, I feel her slipping through my fingers, and no matter what I do, I fear I’m going to strike out with the one and only girl I’ve ever fallen for.

I loved this story so much!
I absolutely loved this story, it's a sweet slow burn, hate to love romance. The story of Harmony and Holt, it's full of emotions, you will cry, laugh, and be torn for this couple. I'm more used to Meghan Quinn's full-on romcoms, however, I think I love the emotional side of this book and would love to read more in the future like this one, with special twists that have me invested in the story. The audiobook narrated by Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright was simply fantastic, I enjoyed every minute of it as I usually do with all Meghan Quinn's audios.

Might be my favourite MQ book to date
I think Holt Green might be my favourite MQ hero yet. And he had mighty boots to fill. But the banter and the flirting between him and the sassy, closed off, independent Harmony Styles was OFF. THE. CHARTS. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face and I actually dragged this read out because I didn't want it to be over. I rarely do with rom-com's from one of the queens of the (sub)genre. This is definitely grumpy/sunshine but the girl is the grump this time and Holt...my darling Holt is the sweetest...well expect those times when he isn't, but I don't wanna talk about that..READ THIS. For fun times, for laughs, for brilliant writing and such great friend groups and a couple that I just want to have all the good things. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

Holt and Harmony!
After a night out Holt and the boys decide to finish up their evening at the diner where he makes a less than favorable impression on their waitress. She believes that he is nothing but an entitled athlete who has never had to work for anything in his life but rather than it being a deterrent he is determined to prove her wrong.
Harmony is a woman who not only attends college but needs to work as well so having to serve a group of exuberant men who seem to think life is a party is not how she wanted to spend her evening. She never expected to see him again and she certainly never expected to develop feelings for him despite her determination not to.
Holt may be charming but it is the caring side of him that draws you in while Harmony has struggled for everything she has so she may be fiery but she is also cautious. Their interactions are humorous and hot but it is the emotional connection that they develop that makes their relationship so special. The narrators brought out all the chemistry and humor of the story and the characters.

The save of a great story
Meghan Quinn does it again. Book 7 in the series. The world-building was is very well done and the descriptions given make it easy to visualise everything. Both the characters are very different but they are also very well drawn which makes them totally believable. I really loved this new listen .
Hero is Holt. Heroine is Harmony.
This story is fantastic, you get to meet Knox , Jason and Colt in the story before they meet their other half’s . Well written and leaves you wanting more! Narration was very well done, the story line flows smoothly Both Holt and Harmony have trust issues, that they both don’t realize they need to get over
Mackenzie Cartwright and Connor Crais was fantastic. I couldn’t put it down. Both of the performance drew you in

Breathtaking Journey to Love!
This is the seventh book in The Brentwood Boys Series, a Sports Romance. Holt and Harmony's story is beautifully written, sweet, fun, emotional, and romantic. They are opposites attract. Holt is such a handsome character, caring, and supportive, but he is a little too controlling, overprotective, and possessive. Harmony is lovely, resilient, and independent, but she has insecurities, and she constantly overthinking all. Her push and pull attitude is exhausting. Their journey to love is breathtaking, filled with drama, and angst. The supporting characters are great. This is a great addition to The Brentwood Boys Series. I like the friendship in this story, and I loved to see again the characters from the previous books! Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright did a fantastic job with the narration. They are perfect as Holt and Harmony, and I love their voices together. I enjoyed it.

God, baseball is hot🔥
I loved so many things in the Strike Out...the Hallmark Architect, the texts with the guys, how swoon worthy Holt is:)
Seriously, Holt & Harmony are so ridiculously hot together...I mean holy hot BJ Harmony🔥 my girl made Holt forget his name!!
“Sometimes the right person comes out of nowhere. When you’re not looking for love is sometimes when you actually find it.”—they fell hard & fast for each other. As the saying goes ‘when you know you know’ and they knew. Life had different plans for them but they did what they needed to do and their relationship was better for it.

Another cracker!
Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright team up to bring Holt and Harmony to life in this fabulous aural performance of The Strike Out by Meghan Quinn.
As always the words penned by this author are, at times, laugh out loud funny with moments of sentimentality, frustration and even some downright idiocy.
All this mixed together gives us a beautiful story of boy meets girl and eventually, they live happily ever after.
All in all a great addition to the audio library of this amazing author.

Another great book in the Brentwood Boys Series! I am loving this series and this book was a little deeper than the rest for me so far. I enjoyed the almost love at first sight feel this story had. Harmony and Holt had chemistry and I thought this book was hotter than the others in the series. I will admit the jealousy thing is never something I like in romance and this book had a few scenes of very overdone and uncalled for jealousy drama but even with that I still really enjoyed this romance. I loved how things worked out in the end and when it was over my heart was happy!
The narration was great, both narrators were perfectly cast for these characters.

Brentwood Boys are back!
Quinn knocks it out of the park with Holt & Harmony's story! Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright were perfectly cast for this audio! You will laugh, you'll swoon, you'll smile, and you'll feel all the things through the journey these two take to find their HEA! Im not a huge fan of the cocky jock types (much like Harmony at the beginning of this book!) but Holt soon won me over and this story was so much fun! It has heart, heat, and humor! Can be read as a standalone! Excellent narration!!!

Disappointing storyline.
There are things I liked about Holt and Harmony’s story because it’s a microcosm of young adult experiences and emotions that are quite revealing. I liked their first snarky encounter which revealed his overconfident jock attitude and her sarcastic underdog personality and the addition of Harmony’s best friend and roommate added much needed comic relief to the story. I liked both characters because Holt is a really sweet guy and Harmony finally finds her soft place to fall but when reality intrudes and the sensual bubble they live in pops sh*t gets real. It’s sad that the author chose to have Holt and Harmony’s love devolve into a dark and dysfunctional relationship when there were many other directions this story could have gone and the plot twist was way over the top. I listened to the audiobook and though the storyline was not my favorite I thought both Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright did a fabulous job portraying the confusing and conflicting emotions of their young adult characters. If not for their insightful performances I wouldn’t have been able to finish this convoluted story.

didn't live up to the previous books
first half (ish) was so incredibly crass that it was funny. he is juvenile and rude and very quick witted in a way that was hilarious. both narrators did a great job. MC just became one if my fav female narrators yet. did NOT like the female main character. she is bitter and hateful. unfortunately, by the last third I didn't like the male main character either - unstable, needy, puts the responsibility for the world on himself and doesn't give anyone else any credit, super unattractive traits

I did not see Holt Green coming! I think I have a new favorite in the Towel Brigade!
Well, well, well. I did not see Holt Green coming. I thought he was going to be a shyer guy, a little more reserved given the limited details in the previous books in which he was a side character. Boy was I wrong. Man, the mouth on that guy. Phew. I loved it. He was also so honest, sometimes to his detriment, genuine, funny, and caring. I felt a little like Harmony in that I was gobsmacked by him. It was so believable that they fell so hard and fast for each other. They were such a perfect match, and balanced each other so ideally.
Meghan’s characters always have so much depth. You understand the bad decisions, the things that go wrong. It would be so easy to make the same choices in the same situation. With this, the growth is always so sincere and important to the story, to the couple’s future. Harmony changed the most in this story, but it was a shift in outlook, in perspective, and what’s important. Holt grew as a man. It was a growth of character, not a change in personality. They stayed fun, and playful, and adorable.
Holt and Harmony are the youngest couple in the Towel Brigade to get their HEA, but this couple’s communication, growth, willingness to be what the other needs may be the most mature of all the couples. You believe they will make it work despite the road ahead. I really loved this couple.
Connor Crais, oh my. He was the perfect Holt. He had the perfect fun loving, passion, intensity, and funny aspects to his voice and timing. Seriously, the narration made me love Holt even more. I love Mackenzie Cartwright in a strong female role. She has the perfect tone for Harmony’s personality. They were both so great at each other’s characters and the side chcartacters as well. Fantastic audio!

First impressions are not always correct
We firstmett Holt in Knox's story where we found him being secretive and texting someone he wouldn't tell the other players about. The someone was Harmony. This is Holt and Harmony's story. The meet ugly sets the tone for their relationship as Harmony is constantly distrustful of Holt and consistently puts down his sport, the difficulty he faces in going pro, and how hard he works to maintain his position on the team. She seems to think that just because his family has money and hers does not, that he has everything handed to him on a silver platter. She is extremely closed-minded and looks for ulterior motives in every action Holt does even to the point of sabotaging her own future by refusing the offer of a paid internship from a company that Holt's father owns. I felt like Holt got the short end of this relationship stick. They did end up with a HEA.
This was my least favorite book in the "Towel Brigade".
The narrators, Connor Fraud and Mackenzie Cartwright, did a great job bringing these characters to life.

This is not a jock romance
Holt is a baseball player and a college student getting drunk in a dinner where Harmony waitress to pay the student loans. They have the worst first impression, full of judgmental assumptions and defense mechanisms but they were hooked from the start. Holt is the sunshine, the go getter and the chaser in this book and Harmony is the rational, stubborn and jaded by college players. I never wanted to read, or listen to, college romance because I believe that the characters will be too immature to make the decisions one must make during a romance story but this book and the narrators just grabbed my heart and didn't let go. I laughed so much with Pryia, agreed with Harmony, cried with Holt and ended up wanting to hug all the adults in the book. The narrators brought another level of emotions for me making me cry every time Connor Crais' voice broke during a sad dialogue or shiver when they were whispering delicious things to each other. I couldn't recommend it more.
