Two friends, a hidden trail and a frantic search for the truth. The brand-new gripping thriller from No. 1 bestselling author Carmel Harrington is available to pre-order now.
'Carmel Harrington is a superb chronicler of family dynamics' SUNDAY TIMES
A trip to France is exactly what best friends Cara and Alannah need. Cara's family life has imploded, and Alannah is tired of pretending to be someone she's not.
Cara sets off on a solo Camino hike across the French Pyrenees, while Alannah stays in town to take a chocolate-making course. They promise to catch up each evening about their separate adventures before reuniting at the end.
But on the second evening, there is radio silence from Cara, and Alannah starts to worry. Could her friend have gone off grid with a new flirtation, or is something more sinister at play?
Desperate for answers, Alannah retraces Cara's footsteps along the Camino trail. But the further she goes, the more mysterious Cara's disappearance becomes, and she questions who she can trust.
Where is Cara, and can Alannah find her before it's too late?

Critic reviews
How does she do it? All life is here in the pages of Harrington's latest gripping thriller, unforgettable characters, unbreakable friendships, wit and wisdom, the highs and lows of parenting and marriage, the complexities of love and loyalty. I adored the Camino setting, the nerve-shredding ending, the compelling pace but above all, the sheer resilience of the wonderful Cara and Alannah. Fantastic!
