The incredible conclusion to the record-breaking triple Hugo award-winning trilogy that began with the The Fifth Season.

The Moon will soon return. Whether this heralds the destruction of humankind or something worse will depend on two women.

Essun has inherited the phenomenal power of Alabaster Tenring. With it, she hopes to find her daughter Nassun and forge a world in which every outcast child can grow up safe.

For Nassun, her mother's mastery of the Obelisk Gate comes too late. She has seen the evil of the world, and accepted what her mother will not admit: that sometimes what is corrupt cannot be cleansed, only destroyed.

Incredible!

Just phenomenal stuff, the characters are immense, the world building rich and hugely detailed. Just sad I've reached the end. I look forward to sharing with my Daughters when they're a little older.

Great Series!

Listened to nine hours of this book over two days. Fascinated about how it was going to end! Really enjoyed the series! Found this book slightly slower than the first two.

Fabulous story, fabulous narration

I just listened to all three books of the trilogy back-to-back and it was a wonderful time. I’m sad it’s over.

Very good and not what I expected

I think this is the best written of the trilogy. I wasn't expecting much from the plot when I started listening but there's lots of interesting plot going on. The writing is a little slow and the narration, whilst excellent, is also a little slow but other than that I really enjoyed the book.

Absolutely fantastic!

I've been gripped by the whole trilogy - I could barely put it down! Jemisin is a genius! The characters are well developed and diverse and the overall story is enthralling.

Robin's narration is a masterclass in the craft and really brings all the characters to life. I often forgot it was just one person's voice that I was listening to!

Best book of the trilogy!

I loved it, highly recommended. The story from the last 2 books was woven together in an exciting and satisfying way.

Sublime. Great book (trilogy), beautiful reading.

Love Robin Miles' musical reading. I'm fussy as hell about audiobooks but this? wow. Unmissable.

Loved fifth season but not the sequels as much

This final part I felt a little disappointed about. There was not much going on in this book. Found myself mostly wanting it to end since I've come this far and can't Not finish it

Confusing

The stone eater parts were a bit confusing and sometimes boring, but otherwise good book.
