Summary

Sisterhood binds them. Trauma defines them. Will secrets tear them apart?

Leah’s perfect marriage isn’t what it seems, but the biggest lie of all is that she’s learned to live with what happened all those years ago. Marie drinks a bit too much to help her forget. And Carly has never forgiven herself for not keeping them safe.

Twenty years ago the Sinclair sisters were taken. But what came after their return was far worse. Can a family ever recover, especially when not everyone is telling the truth?

Dark and depressing

Although the story is good and well thought out, it is soooooo depressing, no light in it at all. The narrator read most of it in a scared shaky voice which really irritated after a while, I got too far in to abandon so did finish the book, but unless you like dark depressing thrillers I wouldn’t recommend.

WOW, what a storyline

This book will have you sitting at the edge of your seat as you read the story of the 3 sisters.
Its hard to believe this sort of thing can happen but it does in real life.
The ending is very fitting for the story. I wished it never finished.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Meh

Spoiler alert. Horrific experience for three kids, but not sure it warranted the terrified shaky voice the narrator used throughout the entire book, or a good 75% of it. It really grated on me. Bit confused too as there have been some far more horrific cases in life where there has been nothing like the media frenzy that this apparently invoked on an anniversary of it. The girls got out within three days, without physical harm from the perpetrators. Couldn’t wait for it to end by the last few chapters. Don’t blame George for having an affair. Leah was beyond annoying.

Boring and irritating

The main character was so irritating and I constantly found myself sighing in frustration at the melodramatic statements she kept making. Personally wouldn’t recommend this book.

I initially found this v.hard to get into.

TBH - Had I had access - I'd have sent this book back..I'm visually impaired and rely on audible 100%. I'm SO happy I didn't - because I LOVED it. ...
for what it's worth- I need audible in order to leave the house. I was back again in ICU last Feb & again from xmas day to 9th Jan with covid.
It was BEDLAM. Thank you Louise xxx

Very tense

I couldn’t put it down, the short sections for each time frame made it extremely readable, I was on the edge of my seat throughout, a great read
