Summary

The Remarkable Life of U.S. Government Remote Viewer 001

Joseph McMoneagle is now known as the best Operational Remote Viewer in the history of the U.S. Army's Special Project-Stargate. His intelligence collection results have never been surpassed and rarely equaled. Among his achievements:

He described the interior of a top-secret Soviet manufacturing plant and accurately predicted a new class of submarine under construction there.

He sketched the location and described the thoughts of a kidnapped U.S. Army General being held by the Red Brigade in Northern Italy.

Nearly a year in advance he accurately predicted when Skylab would leave orbit and where it would impact on the Earth's surface.

After conventional reconnaissance failed, he and others were able to locate a downed Soviet bomber that had been carrying nuclear materials.

He achieved these results using scientifically designed and tested double-blind protocols. And in the years since his retirement he has continued to demonstrate these abilities on camera for national television in three countries, in the lab at the famed Monroe Institute, and for private companies.

Are his abilities a natural gift, or taught? Was it his largely unsuspected psychic ability that helped keep him alive in Vietnam, and aided in his invaluable contributions to the cold war effort, that made McMoneagle a first-class remote viewer? How much did he owe to his near-death experience in the 1970s? And why would he give up a safe and distinguished career as an advisor to the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command to become Remote Viewer 001? This is his story.

An interesting historical record

I have learned much of the history of RV via IRVA and those individuals that are products of Ingo Swann's training, directly and indirectly.

I've heard Skip Atwater talk about Joe and the ERV methodology including time at the Monroe institute, but this is the first time I've been made aware of the differences between various camps from Joe's perspective.

Joe has mapped out his life's journey from childhood through marriages and his army career to retirement and independent consultant. The story is told simply and doesn't hold back.

Good choice of narrator.

Brilliant

Brilliant insight into the life of a military remote viewer. There isn't a lot of insight into 'how' the process is achieved but there is a decent amount of descriptive information of what happened while 'viewing'. Whether you believe in the subject matter or not it is still a fascinating insight into the life and times of Joe McMoneagle. Definitely would recommend to those who like interesting biographies.

VG at blending army experiences and RV

as an Army Vet thought his experiences were quite real, intriguing while sharing detailed accounts of personal hardships amidst a military bureaucracy. 5 stars.

Great memoir, a bit melancholy

Great story, a bit melancholy. Great performance reading the story. More about his life than cases or techniques of remote viewing

Very Interesting Story.

I recommend this Audible to people who are interested in the field of remote viewing, it shows the work that it takes for someone to truly hone their skill. It's not just a weekend workshop, it's a lifetime commitment though I don't believe you have to join the military to discipline yourself in the skill. The discipline comes from integrity of the heart. It's something beyond yourself that drives you. This is Joseph McMoneagle's memoir. Kudos to him for his courage.

zzzZZzzzz

There were great stories for sure, there were also several times where it just dragged. The narrator was a bit monotone which made long drive listening a challenge at times. There was a point where I kept the book playing in order to get me to sleep during my 18 hour drive.

Personal memoir & Remote Viewing history & defense

Enjoyable and educational memoir, maybe a little longer and more personal than usual.

With people in the early remote viewing program getting older, it is good to clarify individual experiences, straighten out misconceptions, and to make sure the history of the remote viewing program is as accurate as possible.

This is not a book that will teach remote viewing, yet one can not help learning something along the way.

People who do Search and Rescue might be interested in the second half of the book.

There is more to our minds than we know!

The Stargate Chronicles
Memoirs of a Psychic Spy, The Remarkable Life of U.S. Government Remote Viewer 001
By: Joseph McMoneagle
Narrated by: Kevin Pierce
I found this book fascinating! I have read books about remote viewing in the past but I liked his fact based way he went about to prove and disprove theories. The first part of the story was a bit slow, it was discussing his childhood. I imagine he was demonstrating his tendency to be a bit talented in this area.
All countries were using the remote viewing program so it must have been useful.
I believe there is more to our minds than we know. I dreamed of the space shuttle blowing up the night before it blew up so I know strange things are possible.
I received this from Audioboom and the review is voluntary.
