About this listen

‘Chillingly compelling and expertly assembled. An immersive piece of thriller writing of the sort late-night-reading binges are made of’ B. P. WALTER

‘Dark, intense, and expertly crafted. Kate Rhodes delivers exactly what I look for in a gripping thriller’ RACHEL ABBOTT

She thinks she understand stalkers. Until she becomes a target . . .

Elly is an expert in stalking – an academic at Cambridge University and a popular media pundit. She knows the subject intimately: what motivates a stalker, how they behave, how to rehabilitate them.

But now it’s personal. Someone is following her, making silent phone calls and sending her ominous notes. The message is always the same – me or you.

Elly can’t trust anyone – not her family, her friends or her colleagues. She knows that her stalker must be someone close to her. And when they suddenly turn violent, she realizes she’s running out of time to find out who it is.

Because it looks like only one of them will survive.

A terrifying cat-and-mouse chase, told from the perspective of the stalker and the stalked – a roller-coaster ride with an ending you won’t see coming.

the story idea was good but the there was a lot a detail around every aspect, as if the reader needed everything spelled out. Having given up, I eventually I went back to the ending after 2 weeks and listened to the final 4 hours at 1.5 speed, and still needed to jump 30 secs ahead very frequently. The culprit wasn't obvious, the narrator was very good, and if you enjoy stories that reiterate and ensure you have a full explanation for each detail, you may well enjoy it

The story was very drawn out, for me it didn't build suspense, just made me stop caring about finishing the book

I really enjoyed this book however it was quite obvious who the Stalker was but it might be that I have read too many thrillers

Good plotting and very gripping

Short throw-away sentences really makes you wonder who the atalker can be. Very well written innthat regards.
The main character is kinda annoying sometimes. It's not like she does the dumb choices due to ignorance, instead she KNOWINGLY makes the wrong decisions constantly fully aware of the fact that that is what she is doing. Everything would have been easier to swallow if she wasn't an expert in just stalking.

Ending was okay. Obviously written by a woman.

Great sprinkling of doubt

This started off promising but by half way thru,I was bored and couldn’t listen to it anymore. The story went no where. The description of the book was so much more exciting than the actual title. Sadly can only award 2 stars overall and I won’t be looking out for any others by this author. A true disappointment.

Bit of a let down. Got bored past half way thru. Just lost its gripping start to the first half.
