(3.5 stars story-wise) To my knowledge this is Jandy Nelson's debut novel, and was written pretty well :) I really like how she touches on the heavier subjects, which you really wouldn't typically expect from a YA, I feel. I definitely feel like I would've been able to connect with this better if I /had/ had more life experience (i.e grief), so I feel like this is a story I would like to revisit in the future, for certain. Story-wise my expectations were pretty high because I got off of reading Nelson's "I'll Give You The Sun" a few months ago which is wonderful - I think I still prefer that one, but this one's a nice debut! Need to listen to her other book released in 2024, now. However, I did adore the narrator's voice! Pleasing to listen to. Recommend this :)!
