About this listen
EVERWOOD FALLS a small supernatural community tucked up in the Colorado Rockies where witches, werewolves and vampires can live without fear of discovery, and those with curses they cant control are sent to keep the existence of magic from being revealed to Mundanes.
Green witch Sage Summers is no stranger to curses. The night her power manifested, the park outside her apartment devoured a strip mall. Classified by the Magic High Council as too dangerous to live in the Mundane world, shes made a life for herself in Everwood Falls with her organic produce, a weekly stand at the farmers market, and the best group of friends a witch could ever hope for. But isolation has also meant the loss of her family, as well as an ex-fiancé who decided to put her and Everwood Falls in his rearview mirror and leave the moment his hex was lifted. Good riddance to bad warlocks. But now that same ex, Dominic Storm, has returned to town with disturbing news: a coven of sirens has had their power stripped from them and they believe the magic user responsible is hiding in Everwood Falls.
Merman and high school math teacher Gideon Fischer has always been pulled between the merfolk and siren worlds. When someone from his past shows up in Everwood Falls begging for help, hes forced to confront not only the reasons he left his family and the call of the sea, but also the magic swirling in his half-siren blood. He and Sage Summers are the one equation that keeps him up at night. Shes beautiful, fierce, wickedly powerful and has more walls guarding her heart than the Great Barrier Reef. As attacks against witches increase, Gideon will need Sages help to uncover who is behind the mysterious blood feud between sirens and witches before someone is seriously hurt.
Everwood Falls has sweet paranormal romances with cozy mysteries and guaranteed HEAs. The series can be enjoyed in order or listened to as standalones, without needing to listen to the other books.

This series centres around a cozy mountain town where the paranormal citizens don’t have to hide from the outside world, but as we see from this instalment, it is also a place that the magic high council use to hide their problems - in this case magic wielders that are just too powerful to live in everyday society.
The series can be read as standalones, and this is the first book in this series that I have read.
This story follows green witch Sage Summers as she falls in love with her friend and local teacher (not to mention half merman / half siren) Gideon Fischer. Along the way they get wrapped up in helping to uncover a plot to suppress Siren magic, battle warlocks and even a kracken!
I adore Sage’s plant magic and her little marmot companion, and the many Gilmore Girls references (team Jess forever!). Her pumpkin patch and feral forest were definitely highlights for me.
I did struggle a bit with this book though, I just didn’t feel there was enough time given to the siren/mermaid background and the world building around their abilities or even the descriptions around what they looked like. It felt a little confusing to me, but that may be because I’m coming into this having not read the first two books.
This was another book read by Tiffany Vanlandingham, and the performance was very good. Her voice is fabulous and she is so good at switching between characters - and there were a lot of characters in this book to keep up with!
All in all an enjoyable listen, but I might need to go back and listen to the first two!!

Sage has felt she's trapped in Everwood Falls since her powers manifested and a park consumed a mall. She's great with growing things but has sworn off men after her fiancé left her when his curse was lifted. But Dominic Storm has been messaging her again for a while and she's not happy when he comes back to the town to help a siren coven find out who's taken their magic.
Gideon has accepted that Sage just wants to be his friend, but when a siren from his past comes to town claiming they want help, he will have to admit why he is staying in a town in the mountains, so far from the ocean and his merfolk family. He knows something isn't right and is determined to protect Sage from the dark siren magic, but he'll also need her help to solve who is behind the attacks on the witches.
I really enjoyed this book and loved the secondary characters, and their pets, as much as the main characters. The town they live in is great, hidden in the Rocky Mountains, with Sage's loving sentient pumpkins and carnivorous spruce trees that take guarding the town border very, very seriously.
I really enjoyed this book and I enjoyed listening to it just as much, with Tiffany Vanlandingham bringing the characters to life.

I listened to the audiobook with Tiffany Vanlandingham narrating. There are many characters in this story, and Tiffany switched between them flawlessly. Highly recommend these interconnected standalones.
