One of the author's better story lines, and satisfying ending. Better narrated than the former story, which wasn't edited properly.

I like the development of the characters, the warmth of their interaction and the way the author links, real events people into fiction

Plot is somewhat creaky and the denouement is poor. Having said that the sense of being amongst it all is very strong and it’s nice to see a lot of characters vom together from previous books in the series.
