Summary

Thirty-five beautiful girls. Thirty-five beautiful rivals...

It's the chance of a lifetime, and 17-year-old America Singer should feel lucky. She has been chosen for The Selection, a reality TV lottery in which a special few compete for gorgeous Prince Maxon's love. Swept up in a world of elaborate gowns, glittering jewels and decadent feasts, America is living a new and glamorous life. And the prince takes a special interest in her, much to the outrage of the others.

Rivalry within The Selection is fierce, and not all of the girls are prepared to play by the rules. But what they don't know is that America has a secret - one which could throw the whole competition...and change her life forever.

Critic reviews

"Reality TV meets dystopian fairy tale in Kiera Cass's delightful debut. Charming, captivating, and filled with just the right amount of swoon!" (Kiersten White, New York Times best-selling author of Paranormalcy)

Terrible Narrator

This narrator is the most robotic sounding person I've heard so far. She reads fast and monotone, and without intonation, emotion or enthusiasm. Very hard to listen to, could not finish the book.

The selection

I loved this book , the narator and the characters but I feel like it was a bit soft at the end like it didn't have a proper ending but I am still going to read the series because it has me wanting more. love it

Hard to listen to but a good story

In my opinion, the narrator was not good at all. I found her very difficult to listen to and it took me so long getting into the story because of that. The story was good but I’m extremely disappointed by the ending. Overall, not great. I expected more. Will give book 2 a go just so I can find out what happens next!

narration was a bit robotic...

....but i got used to it.

i like the story regardless of tbe narration. 'hunger games meets the bachelor' is what i daw on reviews before and it is the perfect way to describe this series. its a cute dystopian romantic comedy and very easy listening/reading.

I never write reviews, but...

The narrator for this series is awful. It sounds like a computer is narrating the story - her voice is grating and robotic and takes away from the overall feel of the book.

Great

My teenage daughter loved the books of the Selection Series and was definitely not disappointed by the audiobooks! great adaptation and although the narration can be a little annoying at times, the different voices are clear enough and add to the story.
