Summary

Meet 13-year-old Agatha Oddly - a bold, determined heroine and the star of a stylish new detective series.

Agatha Oddlow has been a detective for as long as she can remember - she’s just been waiting for her first big case. And nothing gets bigger than saving the City of London from some strange goings-on.

With a scholarship to the prestigious St Regis School, a cottage in the middle of Hyde Park, a room full of beloved sleuthing novels and a secret key that gives her access to a whole hidden side of London, Agatha is perfectly poised to solve the mystery of what’s going on. But just whom can she trust when no one is quite who they seem?

Agatha for kids and adults.

Really impressed with this, it states its fur 8-10 year olds but I know my 12 year old would enjoy this and I most certainly did. Narration was good, but in my opinion it needs a younger reader. Good plot and nice characters to follow through to other books in the series. Not sure I will read any more but it's a great palate cleanser.

Great story but...

The storyline is great but the reader does read the book in a monotone so it does make it sometimes make it hard to listen to, but the storyline is amazing and the different accents does make the monotone cease.

Really good story,ok narration

Overall I enjoyed this novel but the title and front cover are quite misleading as the look good for an quite advanced 7-10 year old but I would recommend this book for ages 10-13 as it contains some disturbing themes and is quite a hard storyline to follow. Despite this I really enjoyed this literature as is was exiting and griping with lovely language that captures the imagination of the reader beautifully. The major disappointment of this audio book is the narration, when she is doing the voices of specific characters, especially “mr Maxwell” it is good but when it is just simple story telling narration she sound bored and lame. It is refreshing to have a school girl hero who isn’t glamorous or or indeed so unpopular it’s uncomfortable to read/listen to, as the main protagonist has a few close friends and develops a few new ones in the course of the storyline. A beautifully written novel with slightly disappointing narration but on the whole a brilliant, engaging book for children age 10-13.

Couldn't Finish It

I'm afraid I'm in the minority but I couldn't finish this book for the following reasons: 1. Audio was far too quiet. I'm not sure why this title is radically quieter than all my other audible titles but I had to max the volume in my car and even then couldn't hear it properly. 2. The narrator's voice was boring. Very monotone. Didn't bring the other characters to life at all. 3. Three chapters in and it still hadn't got to the main story arc and I was losing the will to live to be honest.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It always had me feeling such a STRONG emotion there was never a dull moment in this book I immediately wanted to start the next one!!! I get car sick so this book keeps the boringly LONG journey exciting and brings me into another world entirely! I don’t feel car sick no matter how rough the trip is i am to absorbed to notice anything⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Snooze Fest!

I had high hopes for this book, but it turned out to be very underwhelming. 1st attempt listening to this book, I fell asleep. 2nd attempt listening to this book, I only made it to chapter 5. 3rd attempt listening to this book, I listened up to chapter 7. I finally forced myself to finish this book only because I dont like leaving books unfinished. The narrator is monotone and speaks low. Even with the volume turned all the way up, it was difficult to hear her. I won't be listening to the other books in this series.
